I am going to be buying a new wedge soon and was curious what the difference is between the Cleveland cg 15s and the vokeys. Do they perform differently or is it just preference?

they're both great wedges. i prefer the CG15's, a lot of people will prefer the Vokeys. CG15 is forged, Vokeys are not. They both have grooves and there are some small differences in shape which is all personal preference.

Vokey offers seven different sole grinds. The Spin-Milled family offers 17 different loft and bounce combinations. So, 17 x 7... you do the math on the variety they have. People have let me hit Vokeys a few times, but I just never warmed up to them. I admire the Vokey engineering and variety, but just not for me.

CG15 three finishes: Black Pearl, Satin and Oil Quench. Black Pearl finish offers most variety, 22 wedges which mix lofts and low, mid and high bound. Satin and regular OQ offer less variety.

Also, its offers a Dynamic Sole Grind (DSG) Oil Q finish. This variant offers just eight low-bounce wedges, 52-56 in 8* bounce and 58 on up with 6* bounce.

Both V and CG will perform well, if you pick wedge variants which match your game. And, it's a matter of personal preference, especially for a player of your skill level.

Both great wedges. The main reason I choose the vokeys was because they looked better. Plus once you get used to the feel of a vokey, you start to like it more, just my opinion

It's all preference and really just what you want in the end. I recommend you go to a store and see how they look at address and see how they feel taking a few half swings.

CG's- good feel, laser milled grooves wear down quickly and will look odd IMHO..

Vokeys- good feel (great :) to me), nice shape, good options with bounce and loft

Uh the laser milling doesnt wear off, just the paint thats there.
Both great wedges
CGs feel a bit heavier to me and a different shape
i prefer the vokey shape
but i ended up going with RAC wedges instead and i dont regret it for a second

total preference thing.

ive had both, and i prefer the vokeys.

they are priced nearly the same, weight is pretty close, spin is great with both, but they look different.

vokey has way more options if you want to get a specific fit for you.

Cleveland 588 wedges = most non conforming to groove rules
Titelist Volkey = many conforming to groove rules

90 + % of the clubs have been rendered" illegal" by these idots. Yes I know for lesser than competative events....

      Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.

      I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.

      Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.

      Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
