If it were not for the Fed Ex Cup (Rite Ced Phred Kupplez), this year's PGA Tour Money List would be getting a lot more attention. Ernie Els leads at $4,097,761. Next come Phil Mickelson ($3,409,233), Jim Furyk ($3,308,872) and Jeff Overton ($3,301,181).

Overton's case is especially interesting - check out his current 2010 record . Without the benefit of a tour win, but with help from three 2nd place finishes and two third place finishes, Overton has still managed to have a pretty good year.

Just imagine if Overton were to record say, about four more Top-5 or Top-10 finishes, including maybe a couple of 2nd place finishes, he possibly could finish out the year as Leading Money Winner without having won a single event. Oh, and by the way, the Leading Money winner Category still exists, and the title carries a five-year PGA Tour exemption!

The PGA Tour Leading Money Winner Title has always come with a five-year exemption, even back when several major event titles came with 10-year exemptions. On the European PGA Tour, the Order Of Merit Title (now the Race to Dubai) has always come with a 10-year exemption, provided that you are an active full Euro Tour member and all money is earned as a full member.
