What are your predictions for this weeks tournament?

Davis is due for another long drought now, isn't he?

I don't really see any reason Lucas Glover can't repeat. He started the season really strong before struggling under the Ryder Cup pressure. Now it's time to get back to the top-10 consistency of the early season. I'm picking Glover for the repeat.

And as always, I'll be cheering on all the young guns. Pretty much all of them are in the field this week. Go Chucky!

Justin Rose is now -10 through 12 holes! Something special might be in the works right now. He has a par five coming up too. Maybe he will make me look good. I said he could move into the top 30 by season's end.

It's still really early in the tournament, but CHIII is tied for second! That's enough to make my Friday go by faster.....as long as he keeps playing well in his second round.

It looks I'll be watching quite a bit of the Funai Classic this weekend.

You said it, though, Cody: it's still early. Chucky ThreeBalls (he was using that for awhile, no?

) still has time to gag. Heh heh heh.

I THINK

really? DO YOU? what gives you that idea

he better keeps that up to win, everybody and their brother are going low at Mickey's place. he's only 3 clear of 2nd after 5 holes in second round, needs to throw in a few more birdies before this one is over.

After the turn towards the back nine (and with CH3 clearly not in the mix for the win), I was actually hoping Justin Rose would win pull it out. He just had no confidence with the putter over the weekend though. He played like a champ the first two days and a chump the last two days. To his credit, he didn't completely fall apart. He hung in there and finished in fourth at least.

It would have been nice to see Troy Matteson win two in a row as well. He has come out of nowhere lately, and who knows, he may be the next young American to step it up! The opening definitely hasn't been filled yet. :/

In the end, I wasn't thrilled to see Joe Durant win, but good for him. He is a ball-striking son of a gun, and he finally got the putter to work for four days.

I dunno, I thought it was sorta cool watching a relatively short hitter like Joe Durant win on a course that measures 7516 yards.

I could deff relate to his distances left into some of the greens.

I guess my life is more boring that Im allowing myself to admit lol

It was a cool tournament to watch on an otherwise boring weekend of sports. There weren't any college football games that caught a lot of my attention on Saturday afternoon, and I could pretty much care less about the NFL. So it was definitely a fun event to watch.

I wish a few of the other chasers would have put up more of a fight late in the round. The actual event was much closer than the final scores indicate. Joe Durant got hot down the stretch and pulled away.

yeah it was good seeing guys who hadnt won in a while come thro 2 weeks in a row.

i was wondering if both he and love would break, but they both held strong.

Agreed wasnt the best even of the year by far, but still some good solid play and drama to be had.

I played those courses last year and theyre pretty nice, for "resort" courses atleast.

That layup area on 13 (par 5) is really narrow and quite harrowing...doesnt really show that on TV.

Loves double on 18 was hard to watch.

    • You all are right, its not that big of an issue, I'll leave it alone, especially after looking at that picture of Tigers beat up putter. But I also noticed the small circle worn on the sweet-spot where he hits it every time, I definitely don't have one of those. Thanks for the replies
    • Committing to one brand of ball this year - Snell MTB Prime X, the 5 doz. pack. Like how they perform for me. At $18/doz., can live with cover scuffing. Iron regripping with GolfPrice MCC+4 Teams std. in red/navy. May be retiring Odyssey Dual Force after 30 yrs. Seems like I can't get it to the hole anymore. Kind of light and has lots of toe hang. My reg. group's hounding finally wore me down.    From Callaway preowned - trying out the Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K in double wide (less toe hang) and triple wide (face balanced). Both also noticeably heavier...we shall see.
    • WOW, it looks like he has been hitting stones with that putter to put all of those nicks into it.  I can't see how a ball would cause many those dings.
    • I'm fighting a knee as well as a foot so I "Feel your pain".  Luckily for me the PT is helping at this time and I am hoping knee surgery is not imminent.  Best of luck to you.
