As confirmed by Steve Sieracki, my downswing comes in under plane and too much in-to-out, causing pushes and hooks. Per Steve, my right arm gets too far back in backswing, and I end up swinging too much to the right....Any helpful ideas out there?

What did Steve say w/respect to how to fix it? For me, he usually suggests drills to fix my current biggest flaw.

Here's a video from Nick Clearwater on pushes and hooks.

Thanks for the video Nevets88. Steve recommended the same things..Tee's under arm pits, and "pulling" to the left in the downswing. Funny thing is, I went out and shot my season low 81, right after the lesson, but "lost" the good feelings from the lesson a week later. For a guy who likes the "push" feel of the downswing, that left arm "pull" feel is very strange. Of course, Steve's busy this week-end, so I'm desperately trolling the internet for guys who've encountered the same problem....appreciate your input!

bpschmid,

Where are you trolling? Did you try the stack and tilt group on Facebook?

I'm starting feel I'm making progress and winter beckons. Bummer. I'm going to try for one more lesson before November. Already looking forward to next year.

Steve's good, and was here at Golf Evolution last year briefly... so he'd know better than us what worked for you.

Something clearly worked for you - you say so yourself - do you have notes or pictures? Why not just go back to those and re-create the drills and feelings you had in your last lesson? You know what to work on... but you forgot? I politely refuse to throw out new answers... you have the answer... And I would guess that if you emailed Steve he'd remind you... have you tried that?

    • Day 2: did my Evolver drill in the mirror.  No club, just did the motion. And this time I am confident I am doing it correctly.
    • Nothing is assured and lots of talented young athletes in many sports fail to achieve greatness. as was said, injuries, growth, lots of things can come into play, And let’s let honest, over the years a few players have been branded “The Next Tiger Woods” and yet there is only 1 Tiger Woods. My initial point was if he can do a great breakout it may capture the attention of a new generation.  Back in the 70s it was Secretariat in horse racing, we also had Jordan in basketball and let’s not forget Tiger for golf.  Stories get people interested and I think golf needs a new story. I will pull for him and hope it works out but there are so many factors that come into play you just do not know, But I can hope.
    • Day 114: 4/19/24 Chipping and putting practice. Tried a little hinge and hold with good results, which has never been the case during a real round. Playing tomorrow and eager to play.
    • I don't think I've found any of the Good Good stuff, or the guys that were once a part of it, very interesting.
