I could have sworn I've read at one time, many moons ago, in this forum about a external putter clip, attaching to the outside of a golf bag. Is there such an animal and if so, would anyone have any knowledge on obtaining one?

I have one.......it's black plastic that clips on the side of your bag and has a forked piece that cradles your putter.

I got it from a local Golf shop for about $4.

But now that i have a cart bag with 14 slots plus a putter tube, I just use the putter tube.

Here's a similar one..... http://www.amazon.com/Intech-Putter-.../dp/B001TDGOYS for just $2

Are you talking about the Club Caddy? Awesome invention. I have used it for the last year. No more wet grips. I use it to hold the putter while chipping/pitching/etc.. and then use it to hold the wedge/iron while I am putting. Work well and is super simple. You can buy it online at many places, but the main site is below. Makes a perfect gift idea as well.

I picked one of those up. It wasn't expensive but it needs to be less slippery because it wanted to ride up on the bag. The ball marker thing is cheesy.

I've seen them at a few Kmarts located around these parts.

Pick one up, you won' be sorry. Just clip it on the club near the clubhead, it holds the club with the grip standing up. No laying clubs on wet ground in am, no towel to carry to greens, etc.. You can put it on one club and prop another club (grip) against it to hold more than one club. Very slick.

Ditto. The one I had wouldn't stay on the bag. If you tried to take the putter out with one hand, the club slid off the bag every single time. I had to put one hand on the clip to hold it in place, and another on the putter. It was completely worthless to me.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
