Looking for a center-shafted, face balanced putter.

What are your favorites? I've only had a chance to try two different kinds, a Ping Karsten, and an Odyssey sabertooth. I'm thinking of having an affair with another putter, Tracy has been rather flakey lately.

I have the Yes! Golf Tiffany center shaft, and have been very happy with it for the past year+

Re: Looking for a center-shafted, face balanced putter.

With Yes! going out of business there are all kinds of GREAT deals on ebay. I've seen many go for around 30 bucks with free shipping from Rock Bottom. I'd like to pick one up but I really like my putting improvements this year and don't want to go backwards. I've messed with what's in my bag a bunch and it seemed to hurt me in the past.

This is one that I've tried. I just never got to try it with a 35" shaft, but I do like it quite a bit...

Rife Trinidad for me...puts an amazing roll on the ball.

Re: Looking for a center-shafted, face balanced putter.

Vintage Odyssey dual force Rossi (or whatever they're called - they show up on ebay once in awhile - really tempted).

I'm constantly temped to buy this putter. I've been searching for a good center-shafted answer/newport-style putter; and this one seems to always call my name. How is the feel?

I like the shape of the rife, too. It is very similar to my Yes.

The latest I'm hearing on Yes! is a sale of the company, but operations will continue. All according to interview from link above.

It feels awesome. Swings so easily and very solid strike of the ball. Takes some getting used to the Roll-Groove Technology. I have had it since August and will be in my bag for a long time.

Ahhh, I can't find a putter to beat my Dual Force Rossie 2 with the Stronomic insert. Face balanced for sure but it is not center shafted. I have been using it for more than a decade (I want to say since '96).

I would agree with this. The feel of the Rife putters is extremely soft and they have very little loft, so if your greens are anywhere near the slow side you need to be sure to make a nice positive stroke.

I'm not into that style of putter, but if I was, I think I'd at least consider the Frog putters.

Frank Thomas was on the USGA equipment committee for years and has been very outspoken against the "groove rules" being imposed on all golfers. He seems to give really sensible answers to the weekly questions about equipment.

That one is slightly off center with the shaft. Is it still face balanced?
