I've had a 08 Grom for a couple of years and really like it alot. The only flaw for me was a couple of the zippers angled and constant use began to pull the seems out on a couple of pockets. All was good until Sept. when the outside pocket zipper completely came apart leaving the pocket open and not much use.

Sent an email to Ogio not expecting much and they surprised me by offering 50% off a new bag. Went to look at the zippers on the 2010 and was happy they were all straight with less pressure points. Called Ogio three weeks ago to order it and not only was it 50% off but they shipped it free. Got an email about a week after ordering that they were waiting on the 2011's and would send me one of those as soon as they were in. First thought was, sweet getting the brand new model.

Bag arrived and the first thing I noticed was the Woode system was gone and instead there is a 14 way diamond divider system. Clubs seem to set up nicely, plus better shoulder straps, stand system and ball holder. Zipper all straight down with plenty of room for everything. Finally was able to go out today with it and I like it alot. For some it may be a little on the heavy side, but I walked and carried the 08 all season with no problems.

I just did a quick search on the net for pics of the new divider system and can't seem to find any, even on the Ogio site. Any chance you could upload a few pics of your new bag? I'd love to see the changes.

I bought a 2010 Grom about a month ago and love it. I've only been able to walk 9 so far, but the extra weight wasn't an issue.

The new staff bag is pretty tasty. Would go rather well with a Ghost putter and R11 driver.

That Staff bag looks really nice. I'm adding that to my wish list for next season.

wow, I love the grom, but hate the woode divider system. I'll definitely look into this.

I'm in almost the same boat. I love my 08 Grom, but the place where the shoulder strap attaches to the bag is ripping out. I would jump at the chande to get a new Grom.

How did you word your email?

How come? I think the Woode system is great.

I simply told them what had happened and that I was going to need to get a new bag. Threw in a line about possibly looking into a different brand if durability was a problem with Ogio. Like I said, I was surprised they offered up anything.

Well, I don't think the wood system is bad, but I think I've been spoiled by 14-way bags and now I can never go back. the main reason I didn't like the wood system is that when the bag goes in my trunk, the clubs get all discombobulated (which will happen with any less than 14-way bag.

I'll agree there. Dividers which single out the woods, putter and each of the three iron compartments would be nice.

i may have to send them an email and see if i can get that same deal. the ball pocket zipper on my vaporlite was a pretty poor design IMO and has completely broken off. the legs don't extend all the way when you sit it down and the fabric is ripping in a couple places, all after 2 seasons.

They offered me the same 50% off, but I did notice that the price at ogio.com is $220, compared to retail of $189. What price did they charge you?

I'd sure love to see some real life pics of this 2011 Grom. I'm on my 2nd 2010 Grom of the year and now I may have to send it back too. The divider flaps at the bottom have come loose in both and the clubs get all bunched up. I'm an OGIO fan, have owned several  and currently own 2 others besides my Grom, a Stinger 2 cart bag and a Voltage. Really don't like the way the clubs rest on top of one another when sitting, makes for alot of chatter when moving. My Voltage and Vission SS before this didn't allow them sit that way.

I sent Leslee in customer service @ OGIO an email yesterday explaining my problem and she said pick whichever bag I want to replace it with and she'll take care of it FREE of charge. That's customer service!

Just bought a new 2010 ogio grom.  Haven't had a chance to play yet, think I will like the woode top.  To get the customer service you guys talk about, did you register the bag when you bought it, save the receipt, or just tell them you have one and have a problem?

I had, and still have a sun mountain C-130, great bag just too big.  Felt I needed to apologize to others when they tried to load their bag onto back of cart.  Told myself I was going to walk more this year, the grom looks like it will still work great on a cart, fits on my speed cart, and not to heavy to carry.  Think it will be a winner.  I am a little worried about the zippers, hence my question about customer service.

I'm the OP and never registered mine or anything.  Called on a whim after the zippers blew out and didn't expect much.  Been real happy with my new Grom and it carries just fine as I walk pretty much all the time.

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
