Bridgestone E6 - Page 3

I can't produce a lot of spin, but I can get enough with the e6 around the green. The best ball I have ever used. Works perfect with my game.

 

 

I have played both the orange and yellow, ive played the yellow about 20 rounds. I think it plays better then the white. I don’t know why but it just seems softer and flies better. I asked Bridgestone if this was possible and he said its the same ball with some color added.

 

I just started playing the Orange and it seems the same as the white. Call me crazy but the yellow plays better for me.

 

Also I have played one ball for three rounds just to see how long I could make it last. Its not as yellow as it started but its not bad.

 

This ball is for slower swing speeds. im at about 95 and I love it. I tried the B330 but did not like it as much as the E6.

just a heads up, dicks has the E series on sale for $20 a dozen, and the tours for $29.99 at my local store. Chances are they probably have all stores the same price. 

After reading this thread, you guys have me convinced to go back to the E6's, I have been using them on and off as well for a couple of years now. I am stuck between 2 balls I love, yes prov1's and these damn E6's. have to say when I think back about all the balls I've lost on bad shots most were the prov1's. My really bad shots with the E6's were always either playable or punchable to the fairway. With a really bad shot with a prov1, I'm taking a drop. Also, went out the other day and played with a prov1 and E6, kept switching on and off hit a great shot on a par 3 within 3' of the pin, as I walked up to the ball I had not noticed which ball I teed up, was hoping it was the prov1. It was the E6.... And last thing I will say is I have also shot my lowest round with the E6's at a friends country club 85. In my opinion, as an amateur you're better off giving up spin to save a few strokes off the tee, you just have to learn how much the ball carries and rolls with each of your clubs ballpark and this will help you save strokes in the long run. Can't speak for all swing speeds but I'm between 85 & 90's, w/ a 3/4 swing.

I've hit 13 out of 14 fairways during my play yesterday. During the play, I've hit e6 a couple of times after hitting the Pro V1,  which is the ball I have played the most in the past several years. Over the holidays, a friend caught a sale of Pro V1 where I ended up getting two dozen, so I have been playing the Pro V1 lately.

 

All being equal, e6 were about 10 - 15 yards longer off the tee, about same distances off the irons, and bit less spin than V1, but if you are able to use height vs spin around the green, e6 balls are cost effective, durable and longer off the tee, IMHO.

Just curious if you know your swingspeed, and if you think swingspeed and compression are related to which ball one should use. I have a natural draw when I hit my clubs, with the prov1's it is accentuated sometimes with the drive it hurts me, which is why I started playing thee6's but than I read an article that said you should choose your ball based on 100 yards and in to increase ur chance to score better. I can hold the greens very well with the prov1 compared to the e6, but the e6 is straighter most of the time.... I'm torn between the 2 balls. I swing about 85,90 average, should I stick with the e6 and learn how much they roll? Or learn to play the spin with the prov1?

I still hate this ball - got a couple dozen personalized balls for christmas.

 

They still feel like rocks to me (compared to the Srixon Q-star)

 

Fortunately, just like my previous experiences with bridgestone - they are water magnets and I will not have to play them for long.

Since coming off a year and half layoff, I've went to check out the latest and newest equipment, especially drivers at Golfsmith and Edwin Watts. According to their launch monitor, I have 101 & 106 mph. When asked the technician, they both told me it's "fairly" accurate compared to the Trackman. The end result though is that I ended up keeping my old TM Burner TP 10.5 since the carry and the total distance were about the same.

 

The other day, I chatted with Bridgestone ball representative. And, based on that conversation, I guess I could use B330 series, but for now I will continue to use up all the balls I have which are; e6 and rest of the Pro V1, Sryxon,  and Callaway Tour i's.

 

I do admit that Pro V1's are softer in feel around the greens, but I'm almost certain that e6 won't hurt my wedge game, especially here locally in Tampa Bay Florida. One of the reasons I've used Pro V1's past Sunday, we were playing at the Reunion resort in Orlando where the greens run 10 ~ 12 most of the time, plus I had two dozen of them. :)

Yes I used the 330 bridgestones after being fitted off a launch monitor as well. They were a bit more expensive and held the green a lot better. I was amazed at how much additional spin I was getting with the titleist which was great on greens but was hurting me in the fairway. This year I'm going to try the bridgestones e6 again coupled with the knowledge recently learned in Dave peltz short game bible. 3x4 system, once the yardages are known the spin won't be much of a factor. Hitem' straight!
