Mizuno MPT-10 sole profile question

Thread Starter
I have recently changed to these wedges and like them, but have a question for any other users.

I previously played Vokey and Cleveland CG14, which were very similar in shape and round sole profile.
As you would know, the MPT-10 sole is much more sculpted to allow for opening the face up.

My question:
Do you find that for a normal bunker shot this sole profile alters the way the club goes through the sand? Our bunkers are a bit wet at the moment, but I'm finding that they dig a bit more than I'd like. I'm not sure that I'm not imagining it, but confidence plays a huge part in bunker play and I'm just interested if anyone else has similar experiences.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Mizuno MPT-10 sole profile question

I actully thought they dug a little bit more then my old wedges to.

Just took some time to get used, I just hit 100 sand shots out of a practise bunker and I was fine again.

Re: Mizuno MPT-10 sole profile question

the mizzy wedges have low bounce to begin with, and the grind on the bottom is called a c-grind. the c-grind also reduces effective playing bounce on the club as well so it will naturally dig a bit more.

Re: Mizuno MPT-10 sole profile question

If the sand is wet and harder, I normally close my stance or let's say square and also square the blade more, and try to hit it almost without the sand.
