I never saw these before. A friend of mine just got these. They have to be some of the best looking irons I've ever seen. Anybody have them. I didn't ask to hit them, cause they were a week old. Opinions?

they are nice, some of the best blades out there currently IMO. Im pretty convinced my next set of irons in a few years or so are going to be mizuno but the new line of Nike 2011 irons are looking pretty nice. I dont think I would take the plunge on them but I would really love to have a set of the new 2011 nikes on the side. They look good!

They are awesome! My wife bought me a set for christmas last year and I still love them. They are much mor forgiving than you would think and the feel off these clubs is incredible. This was my first set of blades and there has yet to be a round where I wish I was hitting any other irons. For better or worse, you know exactly what the ball is doing as soon as it leaves your clubface. They are definitely worth trying and if you don't like them, you will have no problem selling them!

They are indeed beautiful irons. I wish that Mizuno will come out with a combo set that incorporated blades and cavitiy's like Nike just recently did.

yea i guess it would be nice for alot of people just not sure what it would replace. They would have to introduce a whole new line i think. I prefer all blades anyway as I seem to hit them just as well as cavity back, actually i think I hit my 3 iron mp-32 better than any cavity back 3 Ive hit before.

Where did you see this? Mizuno's websites say "Durable double nickel chrome plated finish". Black nickel would be nice....

I take back my own question...on further digging I found they do offer the choice on Mizuno's Europe website, but not in the US. Hmmm, I've got some more international business travel coming up - I may have to go club shopping in the UK.

As a owner of the MP 68's this couldn't be said any better.

My friend who shoots in the 100's has them in the bag and I am quietly waiting til he realizes he needs more forgiving irons. They look so pretty in his bag and the short/mid irons really aren't much harder to hit than mine.

There are a number of UK online golf stores that will sell and ship to US customers. Although the current exchange rate probably isn't in your favor.

I think that mp 52/53 does this.

What do you mean? By progressive, I mean like this -->

http://golf.about.com/od/equipmentre...uip100710a.htm The MP 52 and 53 are two different designs.

The MP-53s have pocket cavities in the longer irons and progress to a muscle cavity in the shorter irons. You can also order a mixed set of 53s and 63s if you like.

The MP-52's also went from a slot to a muscle pad from the 8 iron on up. We now return you to your regular MP-68 programming.

    • Both @DaveP043 and I play in our interclub matches every year, and have been team Captains as well.  There are always a few courses, mine is one, that win a lot of matches (we've won twice in the last 7 years), and we've been labeled as sandbaggers.  However, I really think that our course was rated too low (our greens just never seemed to get factored in enough), and thus our Handicaps were always a stroke or maybe 2 above, what they would've been if the course was rated higher.  And then when we went and played other courses, their slope and rating were much higher than ours, and sometimes I would get a 2 or 3 stroke bump on top of that.  It was definitely an advantage.  However, this past year, our course was rated again and the slope has gone up, so we'll see if we continue to have the same benefit.  Season starts this Sunday for us.
