Please use this thread to post feature requests, bugs (reproducible steps are a big help!), and so on...

We're aware of the speed issues.

I'd also like to thank everyone for their patience in these first few months. As I've said, the Huddler platform offers a lot of features and people who we can talk to to actually make these changes. I've been talking with them for months (and was first contacted two years ago!!!) and only chose now to transition because recently, to me, the benefits outweighed the temporary negatives in switching. Please, again, have patience and trust that this was not entered into for the heck of it, but was done with careful consideration and only when we thought we could achieve a net positive.

1) Can we delete posts? I've already made a couple mistakes where I posted in the wrong thread and wanted to delete my post, but I couldn't. Unlike before I can edit posts after others have already replied, but regardless of how old or whether there are replies I can't delete them. It'd be nice to be able to delete posts that haven't been replied to. 2) In the equipment, is there a way that normal users can edit equipment titles or move equipment between sections? --- I managed to place one item in the wrong category (this needs to be moved to fairway woods from drivers). Also, it's under the manufacturer "Adams Golf" whereas everything else is under "Adams". --- This item needs "pre-owned" removed from it's name, since I assume we only care about the make/model info, not its condition. --- Also, under Mizuno irons, there are a couple of entries with duplicate "Mizuno"s in the name. So, as far as I can tell, normal users can't make these sorts of changes. I changed the "details" of the items but the official title info wasn't updated, I don't think the item details are linked to the actual database attributes for the item. If we can't make edits, is there a set of forum/site moderators that have this ability that we can contact to request changes? My guess would be that it would be best/easiest to add a flag button (like for forum posts) so users could report the item and then specify what needs to change. The first two of the above where my mistakes, both I made when adding a new item and choosing an automatically suggested item, but the suggested item wasn't filled out entirely properly.

I know that this was brought up in the "Huddler transition thread" but just so it is here (as it is a feature request), it would be nice to be able to hover over a list and see it's contents.  Also, it would be great if the signature text could be scaled down if wanted (this can be done in the actual content of a post so I don't see why this couldn't be done).

Also, another difference that I've noticed is when you quote posts with a quote, the original quotes now stay (they didn't before with vBulliten).  This isn't necessarily a bad thing but can make some entries quite lengthy...

One other thing... I noticed when posting on the same page when I hit "Submit" a little dialogue box pops up that says "please wait" and then goes away and it appears that nothing has happened... my text is still in the reply box for editing and the actual post doesn't show up but if i click refresh in the browser then my post is there (this is how I accidently posted the same thing numerous times in a different thread).

This seems to only happen if the post you are making is going to be on the same page that you are on... if for example, the thread is 5 pages long and you do your reply on page 3 this doesn't happen as after you hit "Submit" it refreshes and takes you to the last page.

Just made a post right now and this didn't happen so I'm not sure if it's fixed or only happens sometimes...

Going off my previous post, it'd be nice to be able to edit the info from a product when we select an existing one, rather than just accepting all the pre-filled information. Like if I want to add a putter and I'd like to name it "Ping Karsten Anser 2", but the already existing option is titled "Ping Karsten Series Anser 34 inch Mens Right Handed Putter". I don't think we care to distinguish putters by shaft length, dexterity, etc, so if I could use all the pre-filled info from that club but just change the title it would be very convenient.

Feature request (Low): Being able to add an item to different lists with different statuses. Eg, I'd like to be able to add a course to my list of "regular courses" as "play here" and my list of "all courses I've played" as "been here". This might mess with statistics, though, so I understand if this isn't possible. It's usefulness is probably too specific. Feature request (Medium): In the box you use to write a review, could the calendar disappear when focus leaves the box? It's kind of annoying to tab through the options and tab-through the calender skipping it, just to have the calender box pull down and sit open until you grab the mouse and manually close it. Just tabbing through shouldn't cause it to stay open like that. Edit: Tried adding a golf course and got the following error after the final fourth page:
ERROR [SaveFailedException] (1) Markup does not differ from last version! If you report this error, please include the following timestamp: 1292734040.0475
It could have been my fault, since I went back from page 3 to page 2 and then forward to page 3 and then to page 4. Since a database transaction was committed in page 3, I'm guessing my local data got out of sync when I went back. This leads me to... Bug: When adding a golf course, on the second page it needs to say "Name of Golf Course", not "Name of Area". I tried adding a course and assumed the field was for the town or county the course was in, but it turned out that it was actually for the name of the golf course, hence this course was accidentally created and now needs to be deleted. Bug: Also, when adding a course, why is the course actually added on step 3? Step 4 is what says "finish", so it's confusing and surprising when the course is actually created and added to the database in step 3 with no warning or chance to review details. That's not good UI.

Hi, hope to answer a few questions and file some bugs as well. I'll copy and paste out portions of this response and send it in an email to Huddler.

No, but you should be able to for a limited time period, so I'm going to add that to the list. Also, you could always edit after people replied before - the time limit was nine minutes regardless of the number of replies (be it 0 or 100).

You can't, but I can. Did you miss the part where you typed in "Adams" and didn't select from the "Adams" that already existed? The club now resides at http://thesandtrap.com/products/adams-2008-tight-lies-fairway-wood .

I fixed your other two items as well.

You can contact me or another moderator to make these changes. For the time being, take care when creating items and please point out any errors. We rely on data from a third party to populate the products (and soon Courses) database, so... it's not guaranteed to be perfect. Thanks.

Yes, I've made a few requests regarding signatures. Again, this is perhaps the biggest change, and I encourage people to use lists (lists should be more effective too, yes, I agree) and to use their signature for things which can't be contained in lists, like... a funny quote, a little bit about themselves or their golf game, a list of their golf goals... their real name... NOT just a list of equipment.

If you can reproduce that let me know. We'll look into it. I've noticed some oddness too but I have different controls so it's tough for me to see exactly the same things.

I assume you mean editing the info in your lists... Again, we pull product details from an online retailer, so we get what they give us. Golf is unique in that so much of our equipment is customized - even drivers are available in several degrees, for example - and I agree it would be nice to be able to customize our equipment or at least have the listed equipment be more general.

For now, tell me what equipment is too specific and I can look to tweak the titles. The Anser putter is already changed.

They're marked as read, though. I think you're missing the icons and the change in bold lettering and the icon that takes you directly to new posts shows up. The forum will always return a list, by date, of the newest posts. Whether they're "read" or not is not the same as how "new" they are.

I regard this as a feature, since you can see the newest threads regardless of their read/unread state site-wide, forum-wide, etc.

I doubt we'll see that. "Play Here" is a course you play at regularly. List all of your home area courses there. "Have Played Here" or whatever it's called is a course you've likely traveled to play or don't play very often, like... some private club in your area that you play sometimes, or Bethpage Black if you live in Ohio and played it when you went on vacation in NYC or something...

Filed that as a feature request.

Deleted and request filed.

Agreed that it can be improved, and filed.

Thanks. Keep them coming. Can't guarantee everything will be done, but can guarantee everything will be heard and that everything I can file will be filed.

Edit signature text on your profile page and add the lists to your signature using the popup menus below your signature text editing area.

In the "Course" section, is there going to be an area for Canadian courses? I would have brough this up in the "sandbox" portion however I didn't realize it would be broken out this way. I would think that there is enough of a showing here from Canadian users to make this worth it?

I found that the more specific equipment details come when you have to search outside the available options. Seems like it's pulling out of a retail database that includes some used clubs, some labeled as you'd find them on ebay, etc. Don't think there's going to be much to fix that for gear more than a couple years old, at least that's when I mostly ran into it.

I don't know - it'll depend on what GolfNow gives us... can you remember and check back at the end of January? If we still don't support Canada by then we'll figure out how to.

Yes, data is pulled from a retailer's feed. If you have older equipment that doesn't show up, add it. We pretty much started with what's available a week or two ago, at retail, and will keep that going forward and keep adding when new things come along.

Turns out I could do it myself. So Canada (and other places) exist now.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've seen a huge increase in speed today. My normal website speed test is if I find myself navigating away from a page when it loads, it's slow, which this site has been since the change. Today, however, that has not been the case.
