Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's so ugly it's beautiful.

I won't say what I paid, but I know its worth substantially more than I paid. Very sturdy construction/stitching. They don't make them like this anymore. No rips, or tears in the leather and all zippers work great. The rain hood tops it off (No pun intended). This will probably be on the Bay before too long, although I'm half tempted to keep it. I would never take it to the course, because it screams for attention that my game doesn't deserve. I would put it in an office or den as a club storage container of sorts. I thought it was quite a find.

That is a cool find. I am a big supporter of Goodwill in particular, but thrift shops in general are fun places to shop from time to time.

If it were me, I might be tempted to keep it and maybe use it to store an old set or spare clubs instead of just having them lay around in a corner or closet.

I like The classic styling and leather construction. Grab some persimmon woods and old blades and go play some vintage golf ....pimp style. B-)

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

I don't have the "game" to do it and probably wouldn't anyway--too orange.  But I do like the old vintage style bags-reminds me of the good ole days.

I think I might keep it to keep extras in--but for $285 she'd be GONE!

My main cart gamer is a huge white PING staff bag that I don't have the game for either--but I bought it for $6 at a church yard sale.

Thats sweet...cooler that anything at the Goodwill in the town near me... being in that store feels like being in a huge dirty public bathroom that is never cleaned...They did have a big putting carpet but they wanted a lot for it unless that wasnt their tag.

Saw a guy with the same bag last weekend at tahquits in palm springs , I thought it was pretty cool. Hope you have been using yours and enjoying it.

I think that big old staff bag eventually went for $170.

Mine is currently on the bay. I doubt it'll go for the current price, but we'll see. I will probably just end up keeping it.

As for the unclean dirty comment. I feel the same, that's why they make soap and water.

I feel especially dirty when I walk out with a steal of a bargain!! Just the other day my wife bought an old pentax camera ($60-$100) for $2. Some people just don't bother with looking up the value of their old "junk".

I don't consider taking something to Goodwill (or Salvation Army or Value Village or Bibles For Missions) to be losing out on money. I consider it a donation to charity, albeit one without a tax receipt. It makes me feel better than fielding 50 emails to possibly have someone take enough interest to haggle over a $10 item. Some people live to haggle. Me not so much.

Goodwill gives out receipts for tax purposes if you care to take one.

You make a good point. It is a donation to charity.

As for haggling, I'm a cheapskate, so it comes with the territory I guess.

I'm a Truck Driver for Goodwill and you would be surprised at the quality of some of the GOLF Equipment we get donated!! The prices are really cheap also. I suggest to everyone, go to your local Goodwill and see what they have.

    • I’ll have to pay attention more attention to the area when I’m there. I know the area to the left of the bunkers off the tee is fescue/native vegetation but I can’t remember what’s around the tee boxes. Something to consider still is that you can’t see the green from the tee. You can’t even see all three bunkers IIRC. So I could have a line on the drive but still not know where it ends up. I think I’d be a lot more comfortable going with driver if I played here more regularly and had a log in my head of where shots tend to end up like I do at the other county courses. I have never hit driver on this hole off the blue tees. I have done it from the gold, but the length and angle are different, and during casual rounds when I didn’t care that much about score. I’m not sure the best time to try it is the second hole of a tournament. Or at the very least, I’m uncomfortable with the idea and that’s probably enough reason not to do it. I see what you’re saying. Wind is supposed to be pushing out more to the right on Saturday, too. I could probably aim right at the bunker and not end up in it. I don’t think there’s anything near the green other than that tiny bunker that would give me trouble. Well, trouble in addition to my short game deficiencies that is. Yea, me too. All I’m thinking is get it in play, put it near the green, chip on and two putt for 5. I’ll have plenty of opportunities to use my length as an advantage later. You realize all of this theory crafting will be moot when I chunk it off the tee, right? 😆

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
