Whos looking forward to the new TaylorMade R11's irons and woods

With the new TaylorMade R11 driver and woods coming out in Feb, do you think the TM R11 irons will soon follow and do you think they will make any significant changes to them? Who is waiting with anticipation like I am?

I really haven't heard a thing at all about R11 irons, but I hope they come out with some. The problem is, they pretty much have all of the bases covered with the MB/MC/CB line and the Burner line, so I don't know where the R11 line of irons would fit. That said, it is Taylor Made. If anyone can fit more products into their lineup, it's them.

I am actually really excited for the fairway woods and the hybrids. They look really nice.

I can't remember the last time I have been so excited to try out a new driver. I normally wait a year to pick up a new driver, as the costs drop so drastically at the end of the year, however I might be getting this one at the beginning of the year. I have a buddy that should be able to get me a deal, so it won't be soooo bad.

The fact is and not to spoil your excitment on the new goodies coming out but the technology in golf equipment really hasnt changed in about 10-12 years.Sure they have made drivers bigger and added more forgiveness but they are not any better for the mainstream golfer .I have a few friends on both nationwide and pga tour and they all say the same thing,that a driver from 10 years ago aint any better than today .I have got an old taylor made 320ti with an aldila shaft from about 10 years ago that I still love and can hit it anywhere from 300-350 so sure the new stuff looks cool but its all marketing and the same goes for all golf equipment even golf balls.

Well more forgiving would be a big change in the technology of drivers. I respect your friends on the nationwide and pga but I bet the have the newest equipment in their hands. Plus if by mainstream you mean low handicap golfers you may be right however there is more golfers who need the bigger and more forgiving head. I'd also hang on to the taylor made 320ti because 300 - 350 is long way.

I haven't found anything I hit better than the 07 Burner. I guess it might make a difference if I was a long knocker, but I average about 235. The 07 Burner is the most accurate and longest club I've hit.

I think this might have been a typing error however I would certainly agree with them that a driver from ten years ago will not be better than today's driver. I would at least hope not anyways. I would also argue that the technology today is certainly better than the 10 year old driver that you are using. This holds most true for golf balls...the technology in today's golf is head and shoulders above golf balls from 10 years ago.

I will try the driver probably not the irons. I have a sweet R9 sitting in my garage while my 5+ year old R7 425 gets used in every round. Don't know why, I just can't move away from my 425.

I am a TM driver guy all the way.

The fact is that statement is totally off basis. The last 5 years for golf technology has made a tremendous difference for the common golfer.

First there is the ability to adjust the driver to fit the golfer. Until the last few years this was a luxury only afforded to the pros and those willing to shell out some cash. I'm not saying this improves their game, because most golfers would see a much greater impact buying a much more inexpensive driver and spending their money on lessons. Never the less, this is a huge technology leap for the average golfer.

Next is the shaft technology. The layering techniques and composite materials have made the shaft of today far better than those of just a year or two ago.

And then there is the giagantic improvement in the ball technology.

When I was playing my best golf, with my PING ISI Ti driver and Titleist 100 professional, I was a consistent 280 off the tee. With current technology, I can pull that off with my 3 wood.

The woods...no...but I could be convinced.

The new players iron line they've launched though, even in spite of the Captain America logo thing on the back of every head, has some promise.

I voted "who cares" simply because my set is already set; if I were in the market for new clubs that may be different although I'm not a big fan of the white (at least not in the pictures I've seen; maybe that'd be different in person).

Meh-if I bought anything TaylorMade it would probably be the new MB irons. If I was buying a TM driver I'd find a discounted Superdeep. And if I was buying a new fairway wood it would be the Titleist 910-man those are sweet. I don't buy single clubs for $250, but I want one of those Titleists.

I agree i am 16 in three years and i can hit the ball 270yards technology in golf/taylormade isnt changing very much except you have got screws and bolts that no one ever changes on their drivers last year i got r9 driver and irons but im still hitting the ball the exact same as i did with my burner set.
