Can I get any info on 4 courses   MBN West,  Aberdeen CC, Myrtlewood Palmetto, and Arcadian Shores.  I'm going down in Feb. I hope I've chosen well.

Not to burst your bubble, but you can do much better. Although I have not checked prices in a while you could probably put a better package together for the same money.

I would consider your courses all middle of the road, nothing different about them than courses you can play in your area.

Check out www.golfdesk.com for good deals. You can play :

Legends package....3 rounds $150  5 rounds $220 (includes b'fast, lunch, 2 beers)

Glens group.....between $206 - $233, pay for 3 and get 8 rounds via replays

Big Cats package....play all 4 for $172 (has 2 of the better courses in the area)

Barefoot.....4 courses for $318

All lodging is extra, but can be had for around $35/night pp based on 4 people.

PM me if you want more info, I have been to MB over 20 times.

I am part of a group that is staying at the Legends courses for a Thursday-Sunday trip at the end of April. We got three nights stay, five rounds of golf, breakfast & lunch + two drink tickets each day for $500. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

it is a good deal depending on the courses you play it could be a great deal.

We have a trip the same week for 1100.00 per man but it is 4 nights and 7 rounds. I thought that was a good deal as well but it has some high end courses pushing the costs.

Hey, the bottom line is, you will be golfing in MB in February! Hard to go wrong, really. I have played Palmetto, MB West, and Aberdeen all recently and while they are not the "top" courses in Myrtle, you will enjoy them.

And like I said, you will have so much fun just being in Myrtle! Throw in some nice courses and you have a great trip! Have an awesome time!

As the others have said, you can do etter than the courses you listed. Especially Arcadian Shores....

We're going down to Myrtle in March and below is our lineup.

Caledonia

True Blue

Kings North

Willbrook

Founders Club

World Tour

Debordieau C.C.

Any one play Kings North?  If so, is it a nice track.

I've played all of the courses on your list except Debordieau (which the Carolinians pronounce "Debbi-do").  Cally and True Blue are as good as it gets. They are both designed by the late Mike Strantz and very different layouts. Cally is short and tight and looks like a beautiful botanical garden. The 18th is a great finishing hole with a second shot ovber water. True Blue is a big brawney course with big bunkers and big greens. Willbrook is a pretty southern style country club course. Laid back atmosphere. Play it before Cally and you'll think it's great. After cally you migth be let down. Founders Club is sort of a True Blue "lite". Like True Blue it has lots of big bunkers. It has many pretty and challenging holes, but play it before True Blue. 7.8.12.14.and 18 are my favorite holes at Founders.  World Tour has holes that are based on famous holes from around the world. It's good but not great. It is fun playing "Amen Corner." Kings North is pretty good. Nymbr 3 a shortish par 4 that dares long hitters to try to drive the green across a long lake (rather than wuss out by going across to the fairway on the right. Number 6 is a par 5 called "the Gambler" with an island fairway that again challenges long hittrs to go fro the green on the second shot rather than take the long and safe way around the perimeter. Number 15 is a nice par 5 ith a blind tee shot. Don't slice your tee shot as there is water hidden right. The par threes are good holes too. (see photos linked below). I've played KN seceral times. Always in good shape, crowded and slow pace. There is not a bad course on your list. You will have a great time. Cally and TB are the best of a very good itenreary. Here are links to photos of the courses you are playing (taken my me, except fro the last link.)

great reviews. i pretty much agree spot on with your opinions on each. I actually didn't care for founders much but TB lite is pretty close.

Kings North is a good course and a fun place to start a trip. get off the plane drive 10 minutes (of course you will be late for the T time as always flying the northeast on a weekday morning) grab a bloody mary, tie shoes on 1st T box, toast the annual trip to MB and yank one into woods!!!!

Good times April 27th at approx. 12pm i will doing exactly that!!!

River club is fine, not kings north or true blue but you should be ok with it. we played it last year but dropped it off the list for this coming spring. we did agree we would be willing to play it again if it fits the rotation. We actually replaced it with willbrook which i have not played before. i would love to hear your thoughts on each when you return.

Tidewater has it all over the river club...not even close. Caledonia is right next door to the river club and has it crucshed as well

    • You all are right, its not that big of an issue, I'll leave it alone, especially after looking at that picture of Tigers beat up putter. But I also noticed the small circle worn on the sweet-spot where he hits it every time, I definitely don't have one of those. Thanks for the replies
    • Committing to one brand of ball this year - Snell MTB Prime X, the 5 doz. pack. Like how they perform for me. At $18/doz., can live with cover scuffing. Iron regripping with GolfPrice MCC+4 Teams std. in red/navy. May be retiring Odyssey Dual Force after 30 yrs. Seems like I can't get it to the hole anymore. Kind of light and has lots of toe hang. My reg. group's hounding finally wore me down.    From Callaway preowned - trying out the Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K in double wide (less toe hang) and triple wide (face balanced). Both also noticeably heavier...we shall see.
    • WOW, it looks like he has been hitting stones with that putter to put all of those nicks into it.  I can't see how a ball would cause many those dings.
    • I'm fighting a knee as well as a foot so I "Feel your pain".  Luckily for me the PT is helping at this time and I am hoping knee surgery is not imminent.  Best of luck to you.
