My Thrash Talk this week centers around the 2006 season in review. There is only four or five weeks until the 2007 season starts, so I figured it was time to put the 2006 season behind me. Anyway, I just listed some of the most memorable moments from the past year on the PGA Tour. I'll just list a couple questions to get your mind cranking, and you can read the rest on Tuesday morning.

What was your favorite PGA Tour memory from 2006?

What was your least favorite PGA Tour memory from 2006?

1) Tiger's winning streak (was it 4 or 5 in a row??). Un-freaking-believable.

2) Phil and Monty's breakdown at the US Open. I wanted to see Monty win a major finally. They both folded. Lame.

Wow, I was just sitting here feeling depressed because the end of the tour for the season. I didn't realize they start back up in Jan. But still that west coast swing sucks! Who cares about pro golf in Hawaii? For me the tour really starts once they hit Florida.
I can't think of one moment I liked best but overall I would say Jim Furyk was awesome!
Wished he was still with Ben Hogan.

I enjoyed watching Mike Weir at the pga. Even though he collapsed after making abit of run. The Masters and US open were both memorable.

I didn't enjoy Mike's final round melt down at pebble beach.

Favorite - Watching JB Holmes win his tournament and listening to Feherty broadcast it...providing Cobra free commercial time during a tournament.

Least - Hearing the news that Byron Nelson had passed away. What a loss!

Great column, Cody.

Two favs for me are contrasts in determination:
Tiger's steadfast adherence to his game plan at the Open Championship -showing the world (and all us wannabes) that there's more than one way to go after a golf course.
Chris Couch's determination and faith in himself chipping in with a second cross handed short shot after duffing the first with his chance of victory flashing before his eyes under more pressure than he's probably ever known in his life.

No.1 least favorite memory has to be the lackluster performance of the US Ryder Cup Team. They seemed so disinterested in the whole affair it reminded me of the Olympic Basketball team.

Another dissapointment was finding out that the Golf Channel isn't covering the Q-School start to finish. For a channel dedicated to golf to skip the pressure cooker of the year in favor of endless infommercials and Big Break T&A; reality TV is a shame.

'07 wonderings:

Is Phil's career in the dumper for good?
Will Michelle wise up and play where she can be competitive or just continue being a side show act?

Wish:
US Open coverage with out having to listen to Chris 'BORE'man spew an endless chain of dumb comments and stupid name alterations ...Gary 'rum and' Koch, Cory 'asphalt' Pavin - sheez.

Bury me with a golf glove in my pocket - just in case!

What was your favorite PGA Tour memory from 2006?

Favorite - Has to be the second after Tiger holed his winning putt at the Open Championship. It was not only a great golf story for him to win, but the human interest story with his loss of his father made it a moment I'll remember for years to come. After watching him look like a machine all week, it was good to see the "human" Tiger most of us were rooting for show up with Stevie in a hug. Close Second - Watching Duval power his way up the leaderboard on Friday at the US Open (live). It was another great story about watching someone meet their demons head on in one of the most pressure packed situations in golf. Sure, it would have been great to see a top 5, but seeing him compete again at that level after everything he has gone through on the golf course was simply amazing. Least favorite - Micky on 18 at the US Open. I have never seen a larger train wreck, and hope to never see another one like it.

Favorite - Tiger at The Open. I took the Thursday, Friday and Monday off work to watch it live, and what a show it was. Have to admire the way he stuck to his gameplan even when it left 190 yard 2nd shots - didn't he go and hole one of them as well?
I also liked it when he dumped his first shot in the RC in the water.

Least Favorite - I don't know that I have one, I love golf and to me all of it adds to how great this game is.

Nice thread to get everyone involved, it may sound sad because im a massive fan of bubba watson but my favourite memory is when he went bogey free for a whole tournament in the chrysler classic of tucson to be the first officially since lee trevino in 1976 is pretty damn impressive to me as well as his 3 eagles in one round at New Orleans, i was buzzing for weeks on end

My worst memory is when he double bogeyed a par 5 less than 500 yards in the final round of The International at the 17th to knock himself out of contention to win

If i couldnt use bubba watson, then my favourite would have to be Davis Love III's win at the chrysler classic of greensborough with his 3 year winless streak

....and my worst would be Lucas Glover missing a his chance to play in the Ryder Cup, i would have loved to see him in the team

Unusual choices but they are all my favourite players that i follow every week on TOUR CAST. Tigers streak of consecutive wins was like......... need i saw no more

Bubba Watson

My vote for the best one liner of the year goes to Olin Browne at the Bell South Classic. He was on the range on Sunday morning when Phil Mickelson who was getting around the clock publicity for lapping the field by 10 or 12 strokes showed up to practice. Browne greeted him and said, "Hey, I didn't know you were here this week."

The most favorite:
Se Ri Pak's come back at the circle of winners. Her last shot at the playoff was incredible! (and lucky too!) In life there is more than Golf, but it's good to see a struggling player overcoming his/her problems and winning again!
Same story for Corey Pavin: It's good to see him back as a winner!!

The least favorite:
The Irish magazine/newspaper publishing unnecessary "trash" article on the American players' wives, in particular Elin Woods. Trash talk "spices" up competitions but you need to know how to "dose" it.
In Elin Woods' case, it was very offensive and preposterous.
