cantputt,

The legality depends on the tournament committee, they will dictate whether or not GPS or range finders are legal or not for the particular tournament. I have always seen it as an all or nothing decision, either both are allowed, or neither is allowed. Both are legal for handicapping. I much prefer the Bushnell Pinseeker. With the skycaddie, you are dependent on the person who mapped the course for your yardages, not to mention the need to download courses before playing. With the Pinseeker, you decide what yardages you want. Further more, other than a couple of batteries every year, the pinseeker has no additional fees.
