Fess up - how many rounds have you played in your career ?? - Page 2

@160-175 since my senior year of high school (1995)-majority in the last two years.

I started golf in 1985 and actevity stopped in about 1989 at hc 14, during these days I averaged 75 rounds per year, so that must have been like 300.

Last year April I restarted playing golf, and I am playing 3-4 rounds per week since then ...... so that is about 150.

Till now in total about 450 rounds..... not to bad, but still anoyed not to break par ..... z4_blink.gif

I started getting serious about golf in '06 during high school. And in '06 and '07, during the season (April to October) I played at least 4 times a week, for those 7 months. Some weeks it was every day.

I got "good" in my sophomore year and was shooting mid 70's regularly.

I'm so excited to get back into golf this year though, I haven't played since '08 when I broke both my wrists. I hope I've somewhat retained my swing and some knowledge.

I've been playing golf since I was in high school, my 35 year class reunion is this summer, took a small break in the early 80's to play tennis but I would say I have logged close to 1000 rounds and probably ~5000 hours on the practice range/putting green.

I started about 1 1/2 years ago and have about 50 rounds since then.  Before that I had played maybe 10 rounds in my life.  Played for the first time in 1982 in college.

I too have been playing more or less 40 years with periods of obsessive addiction and periods of virtually non golfing, but a wild round number guess is a thousand rounds. Most of that time basically a bogie golfer, so that would be 90,000 strokes! If I only hit 1 out of a hundred correctly that would be 900 perfect shots, so it certainly proves the Bobby Jones quote:  "You'd think that if one had done something 1,000 times correctly, he could do it at will, but with golf, such is certainly not the case."

Wow, what a great question and hard to estimate but here goes...I began playing in 1961. Like others I've had periods of high activity and many with little or no play. So 1961 to 2011 is 50 years...say 25 with no activity. I was the club leader in rounds for two years running in 2005-2006 with something like 580 total...and something like 1x a week for the other years so maybe approaching 2000...that sounds about right. Wouldn't it be interesting to have my clubs from way back and play with them now!

Played my first round almost exactly 2 years ago.

46 rounds at Westwood - the local Muni here.

1 round at Jimmie Austin - the university course in town.

1 round at The Links - an apt. complex + course.

17 rounds at Cobblestone Creek - a 9-hole course (where I got started) nearby - plus 5 9-hole rounds at Westwood.

1 round at Quartz Mtn (SW Oklahoma).

3 rounds at Menlo Country Club (CA).

5 rounds at Shoreline (Mountain View, CA -- I think) - plus 3 more twilight rounds of 9-12 holes.

2 9-hole rounds at Palo Atlo Municipal.

1 round at Santa Barbara Municipal.

1 9-hole round at the Alisal River Course.

58 full rounds -- 27 rounds of (roughly) 9 holes.

Kept score for all of them.  I still suck, but I've gotten better (mid 130s to low 90s).  I have fun every time too!

since I worked at a golf course for more than 2 years, I probably played 2-3 times a week. and lately I have more time on monday and weds. I have probably played around 300 rounds in the past 4-5 years.

I started to play in 1997.
Averaging about 40 rounds from 1997 till 2006, that is about 400.

2007 was a crazy year of golf. I played like 140 rounds for that year alone.

From 2008 till today , I think I played around 50 to 60 rounds a year.

So , till today , I have played about 700 ish to 800 ?

So far I have shot like 5 rounds of even par of 72.

Best 9 was 32 from a par 36.

I officially started playing golf about two years ago, but actually got into it last year. Since then, I've played 16 rounds of golf and will be going for my 17th round tomorrow. That's not bad for only being able to play for 6 months of the year, right?

Started playing golf when I was only a little kid.  Now I am a in my second year in college.  With all the rounds in high school golf, summer tournaments, and free rounds at the golf course I work at in the summer I would roughly estimate 500 rounds or so.

This will just be a guess...

Started the game at age 3...

So ages

3 - 6 - 20 rounds a year = 60

6 - 14 - 50 rounds a year = 450

15 - 17 - 100 rounds a year = 300

18 - 22 - 250 rounds a year (college golf) = 1,000

23 & 24 - 300+ rounds a year (mini tour) = 600

25 - 35 - zero...gave up the game

36 - 50 rounds last summer = 50

That grand total would be 2,460 rounds. Sure seems like a lot more than that. If that is in holes...44,240 holes of golf. I think I am estimating low.

Started at 5, but began full rounds when I was 7, so 17 years of this silly game. Here is my best estimate by age range:

7-13 years old: 35 rounds per year = 245 --> round to 250

14-17 years old (high school golf): 75 rounds per year = 300

18-21 years old (college golf): 150 rounds per year = 600

22-24 years old: 50 rounds a year = 150

Total estimate: 1300 rounds

I played golf last weekend with my Dad, he made a comment to me that he was looking at all of the scores he had posted on the 9 hole course that he is a member, and he didn't quite have 3000 rounds played on it yet, but would get there this summer!  Can you imagine playing 6000 times around the same 9 holes, and those that doesn't count all of the times he plays with his buddies and they are playing some kind of game and not keeping a score.

I wish I even knew... I didn't keep track my first season... my second season I didn't keep track of them ALL
