Demo day

Hi,

For anyone who has actually been to demo days....  I will be experiencing my first demo day. Mizuno will be at 2 driving range/courses in my area. I want to test their new fairway wood. Will also test the Ping G15 before that. Is demo day any different than any other fitting?  I am also worried about something. Since these will be taking place a one driving range only, the other at a course(assuming at their range), will they be using range balls? And if so, can one get properly fitted using these, since they lack distance and any other true ball qaulities such as tracetory, spin rate, etc?  When I was fitted at my pro shop for my irons, they used Pro-V 1s,  And lastly, is purchasing at a demo day worth it?

It all really depends on the type of demo day that it is.  If it is just one company (Mizuno) at a course, then you have a chance to get some real info.  It would all depend on what the company brings with them.  There are also those demo days where there are 8 different companies, they each have a spot on the range, and you can just go and hit anything they brought with them.  With the removable shaft demo clubs, demo days have become much easier to try different things.  I don't live in a big golfing area so that is usually what we get, and it's only once a year.  I have heard of several demo days where a company brings a full tour type trailer and they will fit you and make a club for you to purchase on the spot.  That stuff doesn't happen around here.

Many of these questions could probably be answered with a phone call to the course.  Some are run differently than others so it might be best to go to the source.

This is what we have here also. It is actually this Saturday and my plan is to buy a new driver. I will hit everything. My only stipulation is I will be hitting the golf ball I play...Prov V1x. The place that hold this large demo day here will only do fittings with your actual ball. First rate outfit. Do not get fit with range balls.
