Hi,

I was just curious to see what you guys think about shafts and their

Hi,

ipark1303,

Accuflex, Matrix, Harrison, Graphite Designs, Fujikura, Mitsubishi Rayon, UST (including Accra and Harmon subbrands), Royal Precision, True Temper (including Grafalloy), and Aldila all make equally great products. The key is finding the one that fits your swing, game, and budget.

I have been asked this question so many times from so many customers. Matter of fact that is the most asked driver question I get.. I couldnt agree more with gas can on this.. That is the reason why there are so many too choice from, so you can find the right one for you and your swing..

The most expensive shaft may not be the best shaft for your swing, if your buying a new shaft get fitted for the right one.

R7 9.5 S Shaft
560 R7 quad R shaft
RAC LT irons
Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum

You're asking a pretty broad question and I'm inclined to agree with gas_can's remark about finding the best shaft for your swing, game and budget. Too many times I see people let marketing, tour use or their friends guide their purchases.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I've always goofed around fitting different shafts and always come back to UST. In my R7 I have that Fujikura RE AX that has been pretty good. I'm sure if I start to lose confidence with that shaft I'll switch it back to the UST Proforce 65. In my fairway woods and hybrids I use the UST Irod.

What's in my bag
Driver: Taylor Made R7 425 9.5 degrees UST Proforce 65 shaft
3 Wood: Taylor Made V Steel 15 degrees
Taylor Made Rescue Dual 22 degrees (UST IROD shaft)
Irons: Mizuno MP-67 (bent 1 degree upright)Gap Wedge: Mizuno R Series Black Nickle 52 Sand Wedge: Mizuno R Series Black Nickle...

    • 45 + 44 for an 89. I three putted probably 5 of the first 9 greens and probably 6-7 overall. Tee to green was decent. When I stopped taking practice strokes. It just isn’t helping me get the feel for a putt.
    • Oh hmm, great question. I didn't think to ask that. I'll ask when I call to setup an appointment. If I had to choose I would probably pick a Driver, a Hybrid and a few Irons, like a 6, 8 and 9.

    • What is the rating/slope from the tees he played? If he made 3 more bogies on the last 4 holes (being generous to him) and ended with a 79 that's likely going to give him a net differential of at least -8 or -9 which would be somewhere in the 1:1,000-3,000 odds.   I would bring up your specific instances of him increasing his score to the head pro and see what the head pro says.
