I have been waiting to get new irons all year, and I finally pulled the trigger Friday and ordered Titleist AP2 irons.  I had been looking at the Mizuno JPX800s and Taylormade burners and a few others, but I work at golf course and our pro is a Titleist rep so I used our rentals to give these irons a try and loved them.  I have Titleist 755 irons now that I got fit for in high school, but lately they have been ballooning way too high for my liking.  On my AP2s I got +1/4'', 2.5 degrees flat, and the dynamic gold S300 shafts to keep the ball lower and I hope these will do the trick.  I was wondering if anyone else has these irons, and how they are liking them?  The best part is that I ordered them through my head pro and I got 40% off

Congrats on the new sticks... if I had money to blow on irons those would probably be the ones.

I've been playing AP-2 irons since the start of 2009 and I love them.

ditto...

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I am in the same boat as you.  Ordered the AP2's with DG S300 x-stiff shafts 3 and a half weeks ago or so and am anxiously awaiting their arrival (according to one of the guys that fit me, Titleist has these specific shafts on backorder for some reason which is why its taking so long, the wait is killing me)  I also hit these against some Mizuno's when testing them and like both a lot but ended up going with the AP2's.

Rory might be sporting the MBs, but I will tell myself he played the AP2s at Congressional every time I step up to the ball, and maybe I will play like Rory

I remember seeing a "What's in the bag" from either Golf Digest or Golf Magazine a year or so ago (maybe 2, I lose track) that showed Rory playing a combo set of AP1's and AP2's.  No doubt he's playing MB's now.  Either way they have an excellent reputation and I doubt you'll regret buying them.  I looked at them a couple years ago and went with Mizuno MP52's instead.  I since traded for MX300's, but still wish I'd bought the Titleists.  Looking to EBay the MX300s when I have time to take pics.  Solid clubs just not for me.

Oh and in addition to the AP2 irons I threw in a Vokey SM wedge!  I have only used cleveland wedges before, but in the rental set that I used it had a vokey and I absolutely loved it!  Anyone ever switched from cleveland to vokey wedges?
