Well looks like I'm in line for some new clubs as mine were stolen last night out of my car...

I'll have to go through the headache of figuring out how much I'll get from insurance and then go from there.

I had:

Taylormade R9 460 TP driver (10.5 deg, Fubuki shaft)

Adams Speedline 9042 3w (14.5 deg.)

Titleist 585h 3h

Titleist 695cb (4-PW)

Callaway X-Forged wedges (52, 56, 60)

Scotty Cameron Laguna II putter (customized)

Not sure what I'll get now.  Part of it will depend on what the insurance gives me... I'll probably try to get the same driver as I really liked it, if I can't get my hands on that, maybe an R11.  Irons, I'd like to get AP2s but am open to trying others out.  I think I may get the Adams Tom Watson wedge set as its 100 for the three wedges and I'll need to save money somewhere.  Putter will probably be a Taylormade Ghost or Est. 79 TM-880.

Wow that's a bummer.. You had a pretty nice bag. I have the exact same setup in the X-Forged wedges that you have and I love them. I've also heard a lot of good things about that R9 driver as well.. Replacing that putter is going to be tough also. Someone got off with a great bag, unfortunately. I never understood people like this. If I can't afford it then I don't need it. That's the way I look at things.

I have an Adams Tom Watson wedge (not the tour version) and I like it.  Although it's about a 1/4" shorter than my other "standard" wedges, just food for thought.

Crime in So Cal? Man, it will happen anywhere if it happens here. Seriously, this sucks. I hope insurance figures things out properly for you. At least you can find out if your fitting things changed, and it's summer, so there's more demo/fitting days to move the process along.

Oh man, I think the biggest hit was loosing the Scotty. I send my condolences. Did you leave your car open or did they break in (literally)?

No, they broke in.  I went to run some errands to find my passenger window shattered and my clubs along with a few other items gone.

That hurts, and no one thought a guy running down the street with a bag of clubs was weird?  I hope insurance comes through for you.  It's for this exact reason I don't leave clubs in my trunk, who needs the headache when there are so many dirtbags out there that can't respect another persons property.

Well, the insurance really came through for me and I'm gonna be able to replace my clubs without any problems.  I went into Golfsmith today and I think I know what I'm gonna get (check should be here tomorrow so I'll just have to stop in to buy them, I already hit pretty much everything).

Looks like I'm getting the following:

Titleist 910D2 with Kai'li shaft

Wilson Fybrid 3 wood

Wilson Fybrid 3h and 4h

Mizuno MP62 irons

Mizuno wedges

Odyssey Black Series putter (either a #6 or #9, not positive yet)

Sun Mountain Four 5 bag

The only items on the list I haven't actually hit are the Wilsons and that's because they don't have them in any of the stores around me... however, they are a great price on TGW and I've heard great things about them AND they are cheap which is good since I wanted to save some money somewhere in my bag.

So, doing a little more research I think that I'm going to get the MX300s instead of the MP62s... they aren't quite as pretty but they still look good... plus they'll be a bit easier to hit and it comes with a 50 deg gap wedge already so I'll pick up a 54 and 58 wedge instead and have a consistent 4 degree gap (the included gap wedge is 50) instead of going from the 47 deg PW in the 62s with a 52, 56, and 60... It'll also save me 90 bucks as the irons are the same price and I'll buy one less wedge.  The only other difference is that I won't get a 3 iron but that's not really and issue as I'd get a hybrid to replace it anyways.

I think you made a smart decision as an 18HC..... the MX300's will be more forgiving!!!.....and they are still forged!!  Very nice choice.....this club choice offers both forgiveness and feel.

I've been playing the MX-25's since about 2006.......the 25's are an older version of the 300's....

If you can, get fitted and don't just buy them off the rack.   I think you 'done' good!!!

- Mizuno Mp-T4 56degree SW
- Mizuno Mp-T11 60degree SW

Well, I actually got my clubs today and its not really what was on my list... I hit a few more models and got some great deals so here is my bag right now:

Sun Mountain Four 5 bag (gray/red/white)

Titleist 910d3 Driver w/ Aldila RIP shaft (stiff)

Taylormade MC irons (3-PW, DG S300 shafts)

Taylormade XFT wedges (52, 56, 60)

Odyssey Black Series putter (#6)

In addition to that I also bought two pairs of TRUE Tour shoes, one all black and one all white.

I still need to get my 3 wood and a couple of hybrids which will be the Wilson Staff Fybrids... Those I have to buy online and I'll have them sometime next week.  Overall, I am extremely thrilled with my set.

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
