Is just a like/dislike thread? I'm an American, and I like a lot of the European guys (Kaymer, McIlroy, Casey come to mind). Justin Rose seems like a very likable guy, and I'm on the fence with Donald and McDowell. Westwood and Poulter are the ones I can't stand. Same goes for Bubba, Mahan, and Anthony Kim.

Golf isn't one of those sports where I take nationality into consideration.  Not sure why...

I'll say the Euro's are sure making a name for themselves recently, but as an american I just don't have an issue with it.  Maybe the world is smaller for me than it is for you.

And, I kind of like Fowler.  Not a fan of his matching blue shoes however :)

Besides this thread, the only other people I ever see talk about Americans v Europeans are the guys on the Golf Channel.  They are the only ones.  I assume to drive ratings and get viewers.  In my life I have never talked about A v E with my friends, family, golf pro etc...  I only hear about it on t.v. and it always seems like nonsense.  I like guys from all over the world. Just like in my personal life.  There are several Americans I like and several I don't (mostly from personal experience).  After watching the LPGA #1 on golf central last night I now really like this girl.  She's awesome.

To the original thread question, I don't see the point. Golf is an international game and except for those few events that match continents or other areas in competition (president's cup for instance), I don't see a point.  The competition is between individuals not nations or continents.

Played with an American who came over on a work exchange , said he played off 6 , not on my course he diddnt more like 16 .

Lets just hope ,for your sakes its not blowing up on Thursday and Friday next week , someone might get crushed on the rush to the airport to catch 19.06 to Miami !

Just for the record I didn't say I didn't care about who wins or where they are from.  I said I don't see the point of an European Vs USA thread and that the competition is between individuals not countries or continents. I appreciate good golf no matter who is playing it but certainly like to see my fellow citizens do well.
