I am considering buying a waterproof suit. I was looking at the ProQuip Silk touch waterproof suit. I like the look and the price is not to bad either. Does anyone have a waterproof suit that they have?

Not sure that i can justify the price as i would only wear it a few time although if i buy one i could wear to go to sports events!
Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose.

Nike golf.. the stuff is lite breathable and water proof.. If you look online you can find a whole suit for around 120.. I always wear the summer gear even in the winter because I just pull it over the pants Im wearing.. However even when its cold I only wear a short sleeve rain shirt (windshirt) I just dont like anything covering my elbows when Im swinging..

Rainsuits are something I wouldn't want to skimp on. I dropped $250 or so and went FootJoy. Very, very happy with them. I often wear the half-sleeve shirt when it's just a tiny bit chilly, too.

popey,

Since you're from the UK, you need to look into Galvin Greene since it's easily available there and you often encounter the conditions. I bought the "Arc" rain shirt in Scotland and love it to death. Look for something with Gore-Tex in it, either Galvin Greene or Zero Restriction. It's by far the best waterproof and breathable fabric on the market. There is a reason why Gore-Tex is guaranteed for life and everything else is only guaranteed for two years.

Popey my friend!! If you are a UK golfer then there really is only one choice, Galvin!!

I got an Ace jacket a couple of years ago for 210 quid, best thing I ever bought! The price has gone down a lot over the past couple of years and you would pick one up on e-bay for not much more than 100 quid.

They are perfect for them cold winter mornings and also really good for the summer as they are extremely breathable. I will be going to a few music festivals this summer and the Galvin will be with me all the time, perfect combination of waterproof performance and you will not notice you are weraing it when you are swinging or putting.

Waterproofs have really moved on! I remember my first pair, horrible blue plastic things that made you sweat like a scouser in the dock.

By the way if price is a concern couple the Galvin top with a cheap pair of Proquip bottoms. I play on a really muddy course so did not want to be paying 150+ quid for something I would be putting in the washing machine every week.

When Footjoy first came out with their rainsuits I got one and loved it. No leaking, very happy with it. I lost it 2 years ago in Florida when I put it on my balcony to dry. I didn't want to drop another $250 so i got a Mizuno rain suit for $80 at the Greater Cleveland Golf Show last year. Pretty darn good for the price.

I guess it depends where you live. If you live on the west coast where it rains alot I'd go with the FootJoy. I probably used my Mizuno suit 15 times last year and worked fine.
