I played with my friend's irons and they were good for any players as long as you have a consistant swing. However, I would recommend you try the Mizuno MP60 before you make your decision.

mizuno mp 60s not good for a 20 handicapper.......should be 5-10.....

try callaway x20, taylormade r7xd, ping g5, mizuno mx19.......unless you think you are a good ball striker who's handicap is high b/c of short game not the long game....

I play with callaway X-12 that I've had since I started playing golf. I'm happy with the way I hit them, theres just a lot of new technology since I bought those.

trust me I am a big titleist fan.....used to play everything titleist but their irons are usually geared for low/mid handi players...775 are good for 15-20 handi but they generally feel firmer than others...

There are several earlier threads in the forum section on the 775s, as well as a superb review by Donald McKenzie in the review section of this web site. The 775s are game improvement clubs but they are not super game improvement clubs such as the Callaway Big Bertha and the Ping Rapture. The best advice one may give you is to try irons in both categories to determine what works best for you. Also, you may wish to factor in to the equation wha you are trying to get out of your game: that is, are you trying to go out once a week and hack around, in which case super game improvement clubs may be for you or, are you working more dilligently on improving your handicap, in which case a game improvement club may be just the ticket. Really, the best action you can take is to go to a professional fitter and, with him, determine which club, shaft and other elements are right for you. As for me, I really like my 775s. But you should try several different models to see what works/feels best for your game. Good luck to you.

Thank you for pointing out the review. I don't really want a super-game improvement iron because I want to know when I miss hit and be able to practice working the ball.

Then you may, indeed, prefer the 775s. I really like the fact that the short irons are similar in size to the more player type irons such as the 755s and the 735s. I am forced to concentrate more with the 775s than with the super game improvement types such as my previous irons, the Callaway VFTs.

I had the 775cb's for a few months this past summer. I actually liked the longer irons better than the shorter irons. I went back to my 804's because they are more forgiving on the shorter irons. The 775's will improve your game if you are serious about getting better. But if you just want to just go out and have fun you may want to get something a little more forgiving. Take a look at some the Ping irons before going to Titleist. I played Ping Eye2's for years before switching to Titleist. Good Luck and have fun!!!

I think the 775.CBs would be good for a 20-capper, especially one looking to improve. The short irons are not too different from other Titleist irons, which is nice, and the longer irons are very forgiving and would help get the ball up in the air. If you're a 20, these are the only Titleist irons you should think about.

Just got my 775.cb's took them to an indoor range and loved them. They were way more forgiving than I thought they would be. Now if this damn snow would melt I could go play a round

    • I always get adds for "Find your Eastern European Soulmate" I think it's a nifty gadget to have at home. If your going to do a dedicated putting session I could see setting it up. Thanks for sharing.
    • Here's the bet. Assuming the pursuit of a Tour card holds, who wins their first Tour event? Charlie, or this Russell kid? Bet is off if Miles Russell signs with LIV.
    • It seems like too much work for me. I'm actually surprised at myself for spending as much time on this as I already have. Shot Scope tells me my shots to finish with a 7i is 0.1 better than with my 50 or 55 so I'm just going to go with it. Actually, I tend to be the complete opposite. I've never faced a shot I'm convinced I can't hit. It leads to great heroics and complete flops. Conservative for me might just be someone else's normal.
    • Tell me you've not seen Bill play without telling me you've not seen Bill play? 😄 Just teasing @billchao. 😄
    • And like Matt said, and I have hinted at… it's ONE ROUND. Because you have to get hot. Better players than him failed to get through. And… Peaked too soon, perhaps. He could also get injured, get surpassed, lose interest or lose his game… Again, if I trusted y'all to uphold the bet, and if the bet wasn't basically a 15-year proposition… I'd bet y'all. The odds are against him, and heavily so. So… he didn't qualify, and he's playing on a sponsor's exemption. Jordan Spieth was 16 years old when he tied for 16th in a PGA Tour event… and I realize that mentioning Jordan Spieth (who has obviously had a lot of success) seems to argue against my point, but Spieth is the exception and he did better at only a year older than this fella. The odds are strongly against him.
