My fingers have been hurting lately. Not really calluses but more of a bruising (?) of the bones on the finger. At first it was my pinky and the finger right next to it on my left hand. Now it's those fingers on my right. It hurts especially when i wake up in the morning. But throughout the day, I can definately feel pressure there. The bones are feel as if they are double jointed. Anyone else get this?

I could have posted this for what it's worth. It's really been flaring up recently. In the morning it almost feels as if my fingers are locked up. I was fearing arthritis or something similar. They are usually ok after I hit a few balls in the morning. That said i am hitting golf balls constantly every day for the last few weeks so I suppose some wear and tear is probable . Would be nice to know if this was a common occurrence for those who play a lot of golf..?

I've been going through this for the past month and have laid off the golf a bit because of it. I believe it is from going to the range and hitting off a mat. When I go to a field and practice 100 yard wedge shots it doesnt hurt (as bad) but after a session on the mats it is pretty painful in the morning. After virtually no golf for the past 3 weeks, lots of ice and Tiger Balm it is feeling much better. I was so worried about it being arthritis but I am starting to believe it is tendonitis. As much as it sucks to do, give it a rest and use plenty of ice and Tiger Balm (Im a big fan of this stuff). For me the pain was so bad I could barely hold on to the club and ended up hitting bad shots so what was the point of playing anyway. Give it about a month and you'll be good as new!

I just started playing golf (at 50) and have been having very similar issues in my right hand.  I hit about 400 balls/week at the range and play twice a week. I went to the ortho and was told it was carpal tunnel syndrome.  The remedy (short of surgery) was a hand brace (to be worn as often as practical) and over the counter anti-inflamtory meds (Advil, Aleve...).  I have to say that wih the brace and meds it is getting better.  Only time will tell for sure.

Hope this helps.

Ok here's the fix.... stand straight swing back both arms in reverse circular motion 30 plus times then swing both arms forward circular motion 30 plus times. Pain in the fingers should go away. Something to do with pressure pints in the back. Make this your warm up regiment before every round and you should be good to go.

I use to have a lot of pain in the hands due to an interlocking grip.  When I switched to overlap, it completley went away.  As a result, my ball striking improved.  Also, try taking two alleve before hitting the range or golf course.

Try to straighten and slightly stretch the fingers first thing in the morning.

I'd wake up in the mornings after golfing with pain in my hands and fingers too. I am in my 30's but I think it it was pretty much arthritis. It was kinda scary thinking I might need to give up golf or golf much less. Fortunately, I tried changing from a interlock grip to overlap grip. The issue quickly went away. Try a grip change?

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
