I just use the shaft that came with my Rac OS, which is the T-Step Ultralite/90-gram steel.

I have NS Pro 850's - lightweight steel. I haven't played enough rounds to know for sure how well I like them. DGS300's seemed a bit heavy and these actually seem a little too light. Would like to try DG SL's weight is in between these two.

I'm not a pro just a struggling high handicapper. I have the stock graphite with Callaway Fusion (hence the name fusioncal). The reason I'd chosen graphite over steel was because at the beginning of learning golf, steel shaft (swing weight) weighted too much for me after approx. 50 balls in the range. Now my swing speed has improved and I'm looking to re-shaft my irons soon. My choice falls to N.S. Pro 950GH. It's steel but with the benefit of graphite. Lighter than Dynamic Gold about 30 grams and even lighter than Dynalite Gold SL 10 grams less or more (I think). I don't want to lose my swing speed with, IMO, unnecessary extra weights. Definitely don't want to lose my will and balance in the last few holes on the course. So, yeah it's N.S. Pro 950 GH for me.

Dynamic Gold, I've been using them for well over 20 years. I know them, I like them, I won't change them :). Sometimes I've had S300's and sometimes S400's depending on what the manufacturer of whichever irons I am using stocks. When I was playing a lot and hitting the ball very hard (15+ years ago) I used X100's for a few years, too stiff for me now.

If you go back more than 5 years I still had DG's in my driver and 3 wood. I do have a driver at the moment I used for most of last year with a DG S300 SL in it but I've recently gone back to my Mizuno MP-001 with an NV in it as I'm hitting the ball very solid and very straight at the moment. Early last year I was carving it all over the place so I went to a shorter steel shaft in an attempt to find more fairways, it worked too.

dynamic gold x100...they are the old reliable. I have been building clubs for 10 years and have come to the conclusion that shafts may be the most important piece of the club.

I hit 3 different types of 6 irons indoors with duct tape on the face last week. Mizuno M-60, Callaway X Forged, Titleist 755 (I think)
I thought I was going to like the Mizuno but the feel of the Callaway X forged was the best of the 3 I tried. The Callaway had Project x 6.0 in it and I was wondering how much the shaft plays into feel of the club? I assume a lot. Also my current irons are Taylor Made Rac LT 2004 model with Rifle 6.0 in them. Maybe the feel was similar due to the shafts being similar?

What do you guys think?
