I tried my friend's MB Tp's on DG S300 shaft. He also had Golf Pride Multi compound grip on it. My initial thought was that it was definitely a good looking club. Small head and no offset. When I had a swing at it with a 7 iron it seemed like it went further than my current RAC LT set. So I tried a few swings and they did go further except for the mishits ofcourse. Mishits were quite forgiving for forged irons. But then again if you would want to used these irons I guess you already have a set repeatable swing plane. I tried other numbers and they all did go further on the driving range distance marker. I was surprised because in general Muscle Backs would usually be shorter than cavities. Also had a good feel to it on impact. The head is definitely good. I guess the only other homework is to find which shaft is right for you.

I would also recommend you to try the Mizuno MP67's if you are looking for muscle back irons just to compare.

i recently put these irons in my bag. when i was in college i always played a blade iron. back then i played the mizuno mp-14. i loved them but when i left school and started working i wasn't playing as much. i switched to a set of callaway pro series then to hogen apex pro then to the callaway x tours. i never found a set that i loved like the mizunos. then i found the taylormade tp mb's. i have to say. they are the softest and best looking iron i have seen in years. they are a little tough when mishit, but they will work a lot better on solid contact that any of the other irons i described. enjoy playing with them.
