Today I was on the range practicing my driver and 3 wood. I recently decided to quit hitting my driver on the course because of its shaft and start using a 3 wood that has the correct stiffness in the shaft. I had just finished bombing my 3 wood and was so excited about how well I was hitting it that I decided to try my driver and hoped I had changed something for the better.

I was wrong and after about 5 swings that were all terrible I got angry ( I haven't hit it good in months) and threw it in the air, proceeded to pick up my 3 wood and throw it too. Sadly, the 3 wood which I was so excited that I might be able to start hitting fairways with was not well aimed and headed straight for a bag stand. I knew what I had done before it even made contact and now all I have is 2 pieces of a club that was going to get me playing well again.

Cause + effect. Not karma. Getting angry with myself is something I've been really working hard on stopping. I highly recommend "Zen Golf" by Dr Joseph Parent.

Same here, it's been working great for me! Is the club shaft too soft for you? If so, just really slow down your back swing, you can still make your downswing as normal but just take it back much slower until you get a proper shaft, if it's soft that is.

Maybe. You can get your karma under control. No matter how good it feels to throw a club, it's never the clubs fault. The only advice I have is that be it with your driver or any other club, try to feel or perceive a discernible pause at the top of the backswing before you start our downswing. It really won't be visible by the eye but you can feel it. A smooth transition is key for me on the driver and really any club.

Not quite sure what willful vandalism of one's own clubs has to do with karma.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Maybe the driver saw what happened and is scared straight. Try hitting it again.

lol This isn't Karma. It's just Newton's Law!

"For every action, there is an equal opposite reaction.."

Action : Club throwing.
Equal Opposite Reaction : Club exerting energy in the direction of the throw while proceeding to disassemble itself at impact.

In all seriousness, it's ALWAYS the club's fault! I may need to smack a few of my clubs back into check too! " Does Wayne Brady have to choke a hybrid? "

When I was 16, and having an terrible round, I managed to get the club throwing habit out of

my system. I was expensive, but here is what I did. After plunking my drive into a water hazard (big lake),

I walked to  the  lake's edge and methodically  threw my driver, 3 wood, and 5 wood into the drink.

I left them there and walked on. I never threw a club again. Is that catharsis or what?

When I first started...  Say i would hit one out of bounds, I would find my ball and it would be playable so I would just hit it.  Didn't do stroke and distance.  No matter what I would always 3 or 4 putt on this hole.  I think it was the Golf Gods getting back at me.

Ha it wasn't bad karma after all, not using my driver or my 3 wood (half of a 3 wood) today i resorted to only my 2 hybrid off the tees and shot my best round ever 77 :D
