I put peanuts, crackers, chocolate bars, and sport drinks in my bag and then consume them every 2-3-hole. Peanuts anyone?

Food plan for tomorrow:
- one (1) baggie of cashews
- one (1) baggie of grapes (red, seedless)
- two (2) Clif bars; carrot cake and banana nut bread. They don't melt.
- two (2) 32-oz bottles of PowerAde (one red one yellow)
- one (1) 16-oz bottle of water; in case I drop a PowerAde. I keep 'em in the drink pouches at the base of my bag, and sometimes one falls out. I usually notice it in time.

Wow! Shindig, I'll play with your group so I can get some goodies. I usually like to have a meal before I play I can't really concentrate if I'm constantly opening stuff or chomping on food. But I do always have some kind of sports drink like a Gatorade(any flavor) or Vitamin Water(Power C) and a banana if I'm feeling a little more adventurous I'll make a PB&J; but thats rare.

Played 18 holes, didn't sit down for much of it. I play a muni, so it can be slow sometimes.

I didn't eat most of the cashews or either Clif bar. They'll be in the bag tomorrow, along with more grapes and a replenished supply of PowerAde

If anyone in my group asks for a grape or cashews, they're welcome to 'em. Even the people that were just matched up. I've even given Clif Bars on occasion, and once handed over a 32 oz gatorade.

What are you planning a pic-nic or a round of golf?

For me, a round of golf is 80% picnic. The rest is just walking trying to find lost balls. Pure golf-ing probably is only 5%.

Played 18 holes, didn't sit down for much of it. I play a muni, so it can be slow sometimes.

With those kind of "preparations", I'm sure you'll fit well in my group and I can save a lot money on f&b.; You're like a walking mini-bar.

GREAT idea.... I was thinking along the lines of K-Rations and a Cantine?

It's a WAR out there!

Usually, I bring a whole crate of water bottles and stick it in the back of the golf cart. I sweat like a beast, even if it's only 70 degrees outside, so I guzzle the water down like a madman. Sometimes I'll have Mountain Dew, Coke, or the occasional beer can (but most golf courses these days are a pain in the ass about bringing your own beer). I'm not much on food, since candy would probably melt or at least get mushy, although I'll munch on a bag of chips if it's on hand.

Once, I even tried cheap vodka... didn't work very well (a long story involving a flipped cart, at least $300 of busted clubs, and a whole lot of back pain).

Totally off-topic --- But why did they stop selling Mars Bars here in the U.S.?

Maybe it was outsourced to Venus due to cheaper labor costs.

Btw, all of you guys that pack your bag with food and drink are blowing it big time. You've defeated the reason why you can have an opportunity multiple times during the round to gawk at all of the best parts of the cart girl hottie up close and try to put the hit on her.

    • Here is a description of all the programs:  Programs & Training Programs and Training TheStack is a personal swing-speed trainer for golfers. Initially, each golfer is piloted through a series of swing speed tests to generate a force-velocity profile of their current swing. Qualitative data is... I think cruiser is meant for maintaining speed and flex can do more than that. But I'm just basing that on the descriptions that I linked.
    • Both @DaveP043 and I play in our interclub matches every year, and have been team Captains as well.  There are always a few courses, mine is one, that win a lot of matches (we've won twice in the last 7 years), and we've been labeled as sandbaggers.  However, I really think that our course was rated too low (our greens just never seemed to get factored in enough), and thus our Handicaps were always a stroke or maybe 2 above, what they would've been if the course was rated higher.  And then when we went and played other courses, their slope and rating were much higher than ours, and sometimes I would get a 2 or 3 stroke bump on top of that.  It was definitely an advantage.  However, this past year, our course was rated again and the slope has gone up, so we'll see if we continue to have the same benefit.  Season starts this Sunday for us.
