Inground swimming pool depth??? - Page 2

We have inground and I beleive that the deep end is 9 feet. This is plenty deep.  I would want the larger pool size more than having pool deeper on the diving end of the pool.

I have been digging pools for 38 yrs. 8.5 is plenty deep enough. Your right about haveing to make the slope longer the deeper you go to make it safe. You are gonna want a decent shallow end as this is where you will spend most of your time and play games. Going deeper is just more gallons of water to maintain

Now that we've had it in, it's okay.  If my wife and I dive, we have to shallow it out a bit or we get close to the bottom...no big deal honestly.  My step son (10 years old) dives like crazy with no problems.  So yeah, it's deep enough for us.  To be honest with you, I spend most of my time in the deep end.  I tread water for exercise and it is cooler on that end (it's been in the low 100s here lately).    We are loving it so far.
