Hey, all!  Quick question with hopefully a few suggestions.

I'm looking to take a 3 or 4 day trip to Pinehurst this fall to golf and was wondering if anybody had recommendations for a travel guide.   You can book packages through the resort but the prices tend to be much higher than a few I've quoted.

Anyone ever use a service to quote this trip?  Good experience?

Thanks, guys!

i agree with the bolded above but you won't get any bargains there!

Mid Pines - is great Pine Needles is great - Mid South is great - Southern pines is kind of a little old dog track but i liked it and is great place to have few beers and play for the 2nd 18 of the day.

Just passing along some useful information if anyone is planning a trip to the Pinehurst area.

Played there last fall with a group of buddies, it was our 2nd time to the area. In addition to the Pinehurst courses, there are plenty of other courses to choose from. But when we were there some were in good shape and others were in need of some repairs - apparently the heat from last summer caused damage to greens a many of the courses.

So anyway on our last day there we play Dormie Club and have Jimmie G as our forecaddie, nice course and Jimmie was a great guy. Turns out he has a website that lists the conditions at the Pinehurst area courses and the aeration schedule for most of them - his site is worth looking at if you are traveling to the area and don't want to play courses with greens issues.
