Hi, my name's Travis. I live in Columbus and am about to start my third year of law school at OSU. I've screwed around with the game before but have only started to get serious this year, so I consider myself a beginner still.

 

I took a couple lessons this spring, but I'm still a devoted hack, shooting in the 110's to 120's. My goal for this year is to have one round under 105, and my goal next year is to consistently play around the 100 mark. Despite playing sports as a kid, I unfortunately do not have immense athletic talent, so not a heck of a lot comes naturally. 

 

I wouldn't mind meeting up with folks for a round some time, so long as you don't mind playing with a beginner. I'm not too bad at keeping pace as I'm generally willing to drop a ball versus spending too much time looking for one.

I live in Columbus and just started golf since couple of months ago. Nice to meet you guys!

Name is Dennon. I live in Reynoldsburg. I don't get to play very often because I never have anyone to play with. My wife is more than willing to let me play. At least I let her think she has some say so...lol. Have played many courses around town. Shoot 100 just about every time out. Just love the competition and the challenge of getting better. Have hit a wall unfortunately, due to lack of play. 3 times out in the past 2 years just isn't going to cut it. If anyone is interested in playing a round, I guess drop a line. New to this site. Just found it today.

I'm starting to get that itch.

 

You know what I mean. That wintertime itch.

 

That "I-haven't-swung-a-golf-club-since-October-and-even-then-it-was-at-Turnberry-which-is-a-total-dog-track-and-I-miss-the-joy-of-a-well-struck-8-iron-from-120-yards-out-and-my-swing-is-atrophying-with-each-passing-day" itch.

 

It broke my heart a little last week when I walked by my golf bag to grab a box of Christmas decorations. 

 

Is anyone getting in any good winter rounds? Are there any good courses in the area for winter play, either from the perspective of good-for-winter course conditions or dirt-cheap winter rates (preferably both)? 

 

Also, does anyone have an indoor driving range they especially recommend?

New to this site, but been golfing for years (at least trying to).  The last couple of summers I actually started taking it more seriously and am trying to (still) work the bugs out of my swing. 

 

Live up in Delaware, work (4)-9's and a 4 so normally have Friday afternoons off.  Hopefully I can find the time this summer to play on Fridays as the wifey is getting edgy about not having her kitchen done after 4 years in the new (old) house.  Looks like I cannot avoid it this year so that will take a sizeable chunk of golf-time. 

 

Monday league sub at the office, Tuesday Glenross League for swing-time, but with a great group of guys that welcomed me in last year.

 

As far as where I play you ask?  Where won't I?  Last year hit the favorites and the not so fav's.  Apple Valley, Chapel Hill, Bent Tree, GCoDublin, Royal American, Longaberger (LOVE IT but it kills me) and have been to just about every public course in the central Ohio area.

I am from Fort Worth TX, now living in Cambridge OH. I have been playing since 2005 and have several hundred rounds of experience. I took the P.A.T. in October at Firestone C.C. for the first time and passed. I work with a solid group of guys that vary in skill but we always find a game to play. I am excited about the new golf season and all the courses Ohio has to offer.

Hopefully the weather turns soon. Last year i played through the winter, this year, once since October. Leagues start next month and I have swing work to do.

Took a look at the weather report and am seeing 3 weather sites calling saturday to be 50, sunshine, and slight breeze. Anyone else thinking of heading out, or will you all be to busy watching ncaa?
