Here we are ten days away from the 2011 PGA Tour Q-School and I can't find a single article about what's going on, who's in the field what happened at stage three ... nothing on the PGA Tour website, nothing on TheGolfChannel website. I don't get it.

Thanks for digging that up. I don't know why I couldn't find it. I was looking for three guys I follow: D. Duval, J. Gore and California kid Zack Miller who was a non returning rookie on tour this year. All are in the final, so I'll be watching.

It will be some fun TV watching this weekend. I am rooting for Duval and BOOOOOO. I can't believe some of the big names, and major winners (Janzen), who are in the field.

Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated

The field is really strong. It looks a lot like a tour event. It's amazing to think that these are the guys who can't make the first cut by being in the top 125. It goes to show how hard it is to compete out there.

I think this is going to be the norm for years to come.  I think we will see more of the flash in the pan type guys in Q school more and more.  Jason Gore really only had two (maybe even just one) great years and he has been struggling since being riddled with injury.  Makes it exciting to watch but it also makes me feel for some of those iconic pros that are back year after year now, like Jansen.  There just isn't the room on the tour anymore with all the good young up and coming talent.

How about that 17th hole, it's called Alcatraz.  Going to be some white knuckles there if you're around the number on Monday

Q-School is one of my favorite tournaments to watch. There is a lot of excitement during the year watching the best guys compete. But, when one of the top tier pros doesn't win, he still goes home with a couple hundred grand and sponsors in tact. For these guys it's all one the line to see if the dream may start coming true. In the past I've been lured to Boo Weekly, Kevin Na, Anthony Kim and Zack Miller. Someone will maybe catch my attention this year as it unfolds. But, for now the one I'm pulling for is David Duval. I want to see him back on top. I'd LOOOVE IT if he made next year's Ryder Cup.

Summerhays was in the lead until he tripled his last hole #9 PGA West.  Hate to see that , rooting for the guy

David Duval is tied for 115th at 1 over after a 73

He can't seem to play the last 3 holes very well!

Wetterich is having a superb round today to back up his 64 yesterday.

After a missed 4 footer for a 3 jack on 17, he goes to 18 and snaps one left into the houses OB. He retees and snaps another ball close to OB.  He retees a provisional and cuts it into the middle of the lake.  He finds his 2nd ball and has a dicey lie and pushes that shot into the lake.  So he drops and is hitting 6 onto the green and 2 putts for an 8.  It was hard to watch as he had it going all day with a kick in bird on the back.

aye caramba. After getting himself to -5 for the day (-9 total) and in a tie for 25th place (the magic number), John Huh bogeyed his last hole to put himself at -8 total which is a T27... We need two guys at -10 to slip to -8!!!

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
