It's almost like I should re-read this thread and watch Mike's video every six months or so. Gawd I hate regression.

The video of grants right elbow action in transition explains a lot.. His position at A4 makes it easy for him to drop his elbow to his side and create "lag" but more importantly swing out.

I know thetebisbthe ball between the arms while you take it back to A4 to help with this positioning, but are there any other drills it feels you guys know of that can help?

Yeah you need to give the trail arm/elbow some room to move down and forward on the downswing.

A drill for the spacing of the elbow from the side of the body?

Yes, and keeping the trail elbow from basically sliding across the seam so that the position of the elbow is maintained in the backswing just like grants.

Have you tried this:

Shorter (Probably Better) Swing? Keep the Right Arm Straight

Works very well for me.

You've probably seen this drill, right? Just put a tee in that right arm pit so the elbow can come off the side of the body by the upper part of the arm is still "connected".

Thanks for the reminder.. The video makes a lot more sense to me after seeing the analysis Brian gave me as well.

Blast from the past. Mike this is great stuff. I am going to do the tee under the arm pit drill for all shots at the range tomorrow. I am trying to keep my right arm on my side.

I tried this in front of a mirror and the backswing looks way better also.

So I Tryed it today with a tee under the arm pit. My question is I can keep it under my arm pit but it feels the my elbow and 3/4 of my arm comes off my body but the tee stays in.

This does get my arms in a greater and higher spot where I am just above the shoulder.
