If you know a head pro or a director of golf, please pass this post along to them.

We're going to do a special "Throwing Darts" (our interview column) later this week. We're looking to ask head pros, directors of golf, or other such individuals about pace of play. If we use the answers someone gives, we'll display their course logo and link to their course's website - a small amount of advertising in exchange for their time.

Please send the questions and answers to alan@thesandtrap.com .

Here are the questions:
  1. If you have a pace of play policy, what is it?
  2. How do you enforce your pace of play policy?
  3. How do you see pace of play at your course and nationwide: big problem, non-issue...?
  4. In a perfect world, what solutions would you have for curing the problem? What could golfers do to speed up and what could courses do to help them play more quickly?

Please tell the directors of golf/head pro/whomever to have the answers to Alan by this Thursday. Yes, it's short notice, but it should take about ten minutes.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I posted this in the other thread but I have noticed tee time intervals have a big impact on pace, and with an 8 minute interval you can get a jamb real quick. I'd imagine it behaves like a wave, just like car traffic. I wonder how much revenue is gained from 8 minutes vs 10.

I've printed out your request and will ask my manager if she will reply. I work at a county course and their are five different courses so the policys will be the same at each. she only runs the one I work at.

Please contact someone at Bethpage State Park. It is a friend's home course and I almost never play with him during the summer because of the traffic and the 5-6+ hour rounds. There are times where he prefers to drive to my local course (1-2 hours away) and play there than drive the 15-20 minutes to play Bethpage.

With that said, the Black is worth it not only because of the course itself but the tee time spacing is different and they also leave an empty time or two per hour.
