My buddies swing. Very unique i'd say. He's luckily changed it in the last year to avoid the  humiliation. I can post my swing if I get enough hits on this.

I wouldn't call it funny or humiliating.  Technically imperfect with room for improvement...now let's see your swing.

Always changing:

Driver: Cobra S2/Nike VR Pro 10.5º

Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour 4-9i

Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º & 21º

Wood: TaylorMade R11 3w

Putter: Odyssey White Hot

Wedges: Titleist Vokeys - 48º, 54º, 62º

First round: February 2011

I like how he manages to get the club way past parallel in all the wrong ways; bending his left arm, picking up his feet, major chicken wing. Better not stand in front of him, lol... Stand left of where he's aiming and you'll be safe.

There's nothing wrong with an ugly swing, if it's effective. I haven't gotten good video of my swing yet, so I can't make fun of anyone else, really.

I can make a swing myself, which is sillier looking than that. It's more of a trick shot, if you want to make a bet you can hit it 200 yards with no backswing:

That's not me in the video, but the technique is about the same. Results in crazy slices and pushes any way you go about it, but since the ball's on a tee it can be done with the driver. Just get into the backswing slot going the other way, and swing down as normal. I can get over 105mph clubhead speed swinging like that, but it's a novelty at best like a Happy Gilmore shot. Plus my normal swing is faster and more accurate by a good deal, and doesn't make me look like an idiot.

Your buddy's swing doesn't look that bad to me. This one makes me laugh:

I have a video of a guy with a horrible swing, looks similar to the one posted "worst swing ever", but worse. He also works at a golf store but in his defense he actually shoots in the 80's using it. Swing however it works for you.

OP, your friends swing isn't that bad, needs some work but not bad, its a good starting point.

I got paired up with someone the other day for a few holes that had an amazing looking swing and somehow he was shanking every other shot. Didn't get enough time to really figure out what he was messing up, but it was a shame. Nice swing with horrible results. Just from a few glances everything was great on the back swing as far as stance, posture, position, but I think he was picking his head up just a little to soon.

I ocassionally go to a range with a lot of Asians.  They seem to develop the oddest swings of any culture.  One guy had Sir Charles beat by at least 3 additional hitches.  He was reasonably consistent.  Funny how the human mind develops.  I'm sure it felt totally normal to him.

I thought I saw it last night, and I posted, but it disappeared...

Anyway, it's a solid swing, good fundamentals. The only thing I see is a slight move onto your toes on the downswing, which suggests a possible balance/setup issue. I'm not an expert by any means, but other people can give proper advice.

Any comments will help. Over the winter i've gained a slice on my drives/wood shots. Hopefully after 2-3 rounds, i'll be back in my rythm. B.T.W got golf pride multicompound grips on all my irons, love them.

I moved it to a "My Swing" thread, per the rules.
