Good Distance and feel golf ball

Lately I have been experimenting with golf balls, trying to find a happy medium between a distance ball and a feel ball.

I would really like to hear what balls you have experience with and like.  I am right about 20 handicap and looking to improve.

I am just picking  the game back up after about 6 years away, so much has changed.  What is a good priced ball that offers both feel and distance?

I recently stopped using the Bridgestone E6 and have started to see my scores improve with the Titleist NXT Tour. I loved the E6 and swore by it. The E6 is great off the tee and does exactly what it says it will do which is reduce spin off the tee for straighter shots. I found it very easy to keep in the fairways off the tees. My only complaint was that it was hard to use on and around the greens. I bought a sleeve of NXT Tours to see how they performed. This ball is definetly not as straight off the tee for me, but my scores have steadily improved. They allow more control on chip and pitch shots and have a moderate amount of spin. The ball also feels great off the putter face and has the NXT Tour aiming line to help line it up. I was shooting in the mid to high 90's with regularity. I switched to the Titleist and lost about 5 yds off the tee, but I have shot 3 out of my last 5 rounds in the high 80's. To me it's well worth the few extra dollars. Hope this helps and good luck.

I have tried the NXT and like that ball.  I have also played a few bridgestone balls but never the E6.  I think I may try that out.  I could really use a ball that will help me keep my drives straight.

I'll second the NXT Tour S. Their new ball with better feel around and on the greens.

I really like this ball. Last season I was playing the NXT tours and the first thing I noticed was how much better they were around the green. I love how it feels off the face of my putter(Most important thing for me) and wedges. I haven't noticed any real difference in distance. It's probably all mental but I've become more confident in my short game due to the perceived softer feel around the greens. I'll be playing these for a while.

Bridgestone E5, Srixon Q-Star.

Titleist Pro V1 is a great all around ball.  The solid core multi layer and soft cover means it is both long and soft.

If you have a fast swingspeed and hit the ball solidly every time.  Dont believe Titleist's marketing that the Pro V1 is for everyone.  Its not.

+1 on the Srixon Q Star. The older model Zstars are good choices too if you can find them.

I have played the Bridgestone tru soft (i think) and really liked the feel of the ball but not so much on the distance.

I was actually thinking of trying the Q star but have never played Srixon balls before.  Think ill give this one and the E5 a shot.

Played yesterdays round with a NXT and played pretty well.

Of the balls suggested, my favorite is the Titleist NXT Tour S.

Tried them out in recent weeks, both hi-viz yellow and white.

Softer feeling off the irons and more spin around the greens than the Q-star.

Plenty long off the tee box.

Exceptional ball and has me considering switching from the Z-stars I love so much.

IMO, the Gamer v2's can't be beat for what you are looking for.  For me, they have good distance and nice feel with the short game.  I have played the NXT a few times and don't think it's 3 times the ball for 3 times the price.  Since Gamers can be had for $10, not sure why anyone would not at least try them out.

If you don't mind spending $35, the Callaway HEX Chrome is a soft feeling ball with a urethane cover, so you get green side spin on finesse shots. Since it's a Callaway, it plays well in the wind. I am beginning to play it now and was initially impressed.
