I am seriously considering this. I love my G5, But I don't hit it that great anymore. I used to 8 months ago when I first got it, cuz I needed the 13.5 degree loft. Now, I really don't. It's hurting me now. It's hurting me in the aspect I'm losing 20-30 yards of roll because the ball does so damn high. I could just a get a preowned, good condition, FT3 with 11 degree loft.

it was 300 dollars and ive only had it 8 months so i dont wanna give up on it completely..but if i could trade it in for like 130 dollars..then buy a callaway FT3 11 degree for 200 (used and its now last years model)...i would only be spending like 70 bucks, and then if u dont like the new preowned club u purchased, u can give it back in 10 days and get 90 percent money back..

So, what do ya'll think I should do here?

I think your right 13.5 degrees is WAY too high for a driver. I'm just about to order the Titleist 905r 9.5 degree. I've been planning to do this just been saving up (I'm 15) and I just need about $50 more dollars cause its only $200. Yesterday I was reading Golf Magazine and they did a driver test and the 905r beat the Hibore XL, the Tour Edge Exotics Proto, and the Callaway Fusion Ft-5 all 2007 models beaten by the 905r from last year. It's only $200 and has a high level of launch off the tee. This is what I'm getting and I recommend you get it too, 10.5 degrees.

I couldn't get a 10 degree off the ground well at all, so that's the whole reason why I went to a 13.5 degree. But right now, I still believe it's too much loft.

Where are you in NJ?

I suggest you either demo the clubs and/or get on a launch monitor. My swing is pretty inconsistent so a launch monitor doesn't help me much since I can't see the ball flight and make adjustments.

I found a place that allows me to demo clubs (essentially borrow them for a day or two) and over the last year I demoed 5 drivers or so and found one that I liked best and rewarded them with a purchase.

    • Phillyk is very close by. Ok, I understand how the watch and tags are meant to be used, but I was just curious how it actually works. I can't really think of any other way than what I mentioned above. No worries. If it works it works. I'll probably pick one up. My co-worker mentioned a free app called 18 Birdies which offers similar services. However I personally do not like keeping my phone in my pocket while golfing, nor do I want to be clicking around on the phone while out on the course. I toss my phone in my bag and leave it there until I am done golfing. Tapping a club head to a watch seems wat more convenient.
    • Yes, but not always the case. IMHO, green speeds are a huge variable and can effect score variation from week to week or month to month significantly. Our own course that is running at about 8-9 depending on the week/day, can run up to 12 (no kidding) in peak months around certain event, and most like me score 3-4 shots higher on an average, missing a lot of 3-4 footers. There are any PCC adjustments that I am aware of. Have you every played their course? I am betting $20 you will find some answers if you haven't already.

    • I would recommend spending some time at the range and film your swing. You can post it in the Member Swings thread. At the range, you can figure out how to control the driver a bit more. We can offer some pointers once you post in the Member Swings section.
    • With the H4 or the watch, you tag the club before hitting by putting the tag next to the device. The tag is on the club butt end. After a round, you don’t really think about it too much. You just do it. I don’t know how far you are from @phillyk, but he may know an instructor in your area.
