Driver and swing speed - Page 2

if you read the initial post carefully the tells are all over it. This is the internet people. This guy knows a lot more about golf than any one week old beginner and is no doubt posting in his underwear in his mother's basement. Just being athletic and first time out doesn't cut it. There are many timing, lag and flexibility issues involved in the golf swing. I am a very athletic 5'll" 185 lb golfer who used to compete on a junior level. I am older now but when I really work hard I can get my swing over 130 mph on a swing speed radar system. Trackman will record slightly slower levels. Golfsmith will record slower still on their machines. I was in Roger Dunn the other day and watched a kid about 27 years old 6' 5" 215 lbs with an incredibly fast swing take cuts at the ball. He said he had being playing junior golf since he was 5 years old and all thru college competition. He had a very sound and powerful swing in balance but very fast.  His recordings were 126 mph swing speed. His carry on some was 360, there is no way that the above poster is anything more than the guys you might read on stock boards who claim they bought Apple at 26 and have held ever since etc. its just Net nonsense.

I thought to myself this might be off and got lessons from golftec as I felt lessons are the best thing I can do for myself and recorded up to 127 mph with a 290 carry. I felt my octane with project x 5.5 was way to whippy and I got way to much lift with the 10.5 so I exchanged the club. I am still dealing with the dreaded slice occasionally and I could also work on hitting the sweetspot better. (lots of clubhead speed is worthless without hitting the sweet spot and squaring the clubhead up) therefore I know i'm doing something wrong with my swing. I was more or less wondering if this rip 60 shaft shaft could be played well with the above clubhead speed.

Well ideally you wanna play the least stiff shaft you can get away with without accuracy suffering. The 2.9 is a very low kick point so it will give a lower ball flight. but honestly if your 120 plus swing speed you need a x-stiff shaft.

A low kickpoint will give you a higher trajectory bro. No offence btw just correcting wrong info.

You realize the person you're responding to posted that over 18 months ago and hasn't posted on this site since January.

Yeah but I'm just trolling to see what not to post. I don't want to start a thread that's been discussed previously....trying to get caught up is all but thanks for watching my back.
