Having a tough decision if i should upgrade my driver or irons. I have mizuno mp32 irons and ping g2 driver. I've had both for almost 2 years now. Local shop has sq drivers on sale for 199 i'm sure i'd get 50 off for a trade in of my old driver. I think i might stick wit the mp32's since they have been good to me. Any drivers u guys recommend that i should look for new or used. thanx

If your driver has been good with you, I'd suggest you don't trade it in until you have another that you like at least as much. There have been a few threads on here where someone traded in a driver (or set of irons, or putter, etc) that worked well for them and got one that was newer, hipper, and not as lovable. And then they couldn't trade back.

That having been said, if 199 is within your price range, maybe give the sq a try, especially if your shop has a good satisfaction guarantee. If you can return it within 10 days for 90% money back, then get it when you can play a round or two, and in the worst case, you sampled it for $20.

I had a Ping G2 a couple years ago. Switched to the SQ last year, and would have traded it back for my G2 if I could have. I actually lost a little distance with the SQ and hit it WAY too high (8.5 deg). I only kept it for about 5 months because I hated that driver.

Think long and hard before getting rid of the G2. That's a solid club!!

yeah thought about it long and hard, but could not pass up on the price the guy was giving me with the new r7 superquad, let me take one out to the range to hit and this driver has added a lil bit more yardage and have a similar trajectory. I loved my g2 but needed a new driver to match up with my new mp32. thanx for the advice guys

I'm glad to hear you stayed away from the Nike SQ!! I have the TM Superquad now too and love it. I'm not as consistant with it as I was with the G2 yet, but the distance is unbelievable!! Played leage last night and had 7 irons into both par 5s. both 515 yards!!

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.
