Hey everyone. As I have been trolling around this site for a few months now I finally decided to sign up and post. Ive enjoyed reading every ones post's. I recently just got back into the game a few months back after leaving for slow pitch softball. I played I3' "blades" and loved them. I ended up selling them and could kick myself. This Christmas I bought myself some Burner 1.0's and hated them. long story short I sold them. I found a set of Ping Eye 2's a week or two back and scooped them up after 5 hits. I understand with the loft angles different that they are a club short to my I3's. I love the feel and response of them. Im going to play my first round with them Saturday. Im curious to find what golf balls most of you old ping hackers hit with these irons.

Im 25, Swing hard and make solid contact. I play a little cut, and carry the 7 iron 145/150.

I'm looking to pick up three sleeves to try some balls. Please let me know what you fella's think. Any advice is much appreciated.

Callaway Hex Chrome

For me in order of preference:

- Taylormade Penta TP | Expensive ball but lovely spin, excellent feel and good distance. Discontinued.

- Srixon Z-Star | Expensive ball but lovely spin, excellent feel and good distance.

- Titleist NXT Tour | General every day ball. Adequate distance. Adequate spin. Not too expensive.

- Bridgestone e5 | As per NXT Tour but a little more 'clicky' on putts.

- Srixon AD333 | Good winter ball. Adequate distance. OK spin. Cheap.

- Bridgestone e6 | Nice ball for taking sidespin off drives. Cover seems quite hard. Difficult to check the ball. Clicky and skitters a way on putts before rolling.

Currently trying out:

- Wilson Staf DX2 Soft

- Bridgestone B330-RX

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
