Ben Hogan Would Be Irrelevant Today - Page 3

Whether the guy is a troll or not.  He made a stupid argument and got owned by pretty much every person who responded to him.  LOL.

It wasn't uncommon for Hogan to hit 18/18 GIR, the guy was that good. If he had today's technology, he probably wouldn't miss a green in regulation for like 6 months.

LOL yup.

I could say the following - that Tiger would be irrelevant if he played in Hogan's era. Why?

Caucasian clause.

Man Hogan had a nice looking swing. Sjoe.

Is Jimi Hendrix irrelevant too?

Original poster,
Your indicriminate and inappropriate use of LOLs in your first post disqualified you as a serious thinker right off that bat. Your increasingly hysterical and disjointed replies just cemented the point.

He's a small guy like Luke Donald.    Everything being equal, I think he'd be as good as Luke if he was in his prime today.     Don't have to be 6'4" and hit it 330 to be the worlds #1 player.

I think the correct response to the OPs idiotic arguement is to state that today's players (pick out whatever names you like) would not be able to compete in Hogans era; with less than immaculately groomed greens and bunkers, with equipment that is not computer tuned, with golf balls that can vary from ball to ball, without laser accurate pin sheets for every course that they play, with traveling in cars, commercial airliners, and by transatlantic ships instead of private jets and hotel suites at the Four Season, etc.

Golf in that era was much more of an art form and at the professional level it has been turned much more into a science.

He's a pathetic troll.  And not a very good one.

Hey look! Science can turn four kids with polio into four different kids pretending to be airplanes!

Hey BJ4LIFE - I LOL bet LOL you LOL voted LOL for LOL Obama LOL - because he's black, you're a racist.

LOL @ BJ4LIFE. Childish, but funny.

Go to the range at any NCAA event and you are bound to see a bunch of college kids that can hit it better than Hogan. more far, more accurate, period.

Great players will alway be great players, no matter what generation they're from.

Saying a bunch of college kids hits the ball better than Hogan is ridiculous. Hogan was long and controlled his ball.

I've reported your post. I don't find that particularly humorous.

Maybe you find racism to give you the LOLs but I find it just absolutely repugnant that an otherwise very serious and constructive discussion confirming Hogan's irrelevance in the modern game of golf would be reduced to racism.

Unbelievable.

Dry your eyes son.

Your entire post and subsequent responses to anyone who tried to have a different opinion were rude and provoking.

Like an idiot, you decided to play the racist card which nobody really has time for anymore. Racism works both ways. To say Tiger isn't the greatest of all time doesn't remotely make you a racist.

I'm still running on the assumption that you're just trolling. On the off chance you aren't, then you're just a tool.

LOL.  I'm glad the mods haven't banned this dude.  Watching him make a fool of himself is making my Friday fly by!

Wow.  Read the whole thing.  Speechless.

^^^This...

Irrelevant? C'mon man....you cannot be serious with this drivel!

And why the unsolicited hate for Hogan?! SMH.....

Anyone who says that Tiger isn't the greatest all time is being deluded by their hatred for people with dark skin or their fear that their beloved country clubs will be filled with those "undesirables" with deeper pigmentation.

Tiger has accomplished more meaningful triumphs than any other golfer, and he did it against the best competition.

Unlike Hogan, Nicklaus, Sneed, Palmer, Hagen, etc., who grew up playing against shallow fields. Sorry that I'm not impressed with players who were going up against fields comprised of mostly non professional golfers. Sorry that it's probably not an incredible feat when your battling head to head with a full time doctor or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_%22Jug%22_McSpaden. Oh, what's that you didn't know Jug McSpaden was like one of the goats? LOL golf history FTW.

Boo Hoo I'm sorry your great white champions can't hold a candle to a man with dark skin. Don't worry, at least Eminem is probably the greatest rapper of all time, so you've got that going for you!

Okay, I'm ready for this guy to be banned now.

That didn't take long.

Not telling anyone how to run their board, so please don't take offense...but this guy is offensive.
