A few years ago, I decided I was going to golf in all 50 states of the U.S., plus Ireland and Scottland, before I kick the bucket. So far, here is where it stands...
FL - I don't even remember the name as it was long before I started this quest... so I'm headed back.
NC - Tobacco Road (but I'm headed back at some point for Pinehurst #2)
NH - Mount Washington
NY - Oak Hill Country Club - East Course (and several others, as I'm from NY)
OH - Longaberger
PA - Mystic Rocks at Nemacolin Resort
SC - Caledonia (but I'm headed back at some point for the Ocean Course at Kiawah)
VT - Green Mountain National (and Okemo)
Currently I'm just going off a list of the top 100 public access courses from golf magazine and a list of the top in each state from golf digest. There are a several must play courses on the list already (Ocean Course at Kiawah, St. Andrews, Turnberry, Wolf Creek (NV), Arcadia Bluffs, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst #2).
I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on some must play courses, and what some of your favorites are!
