Some golfers i know who use Pro V1's with tight budgets say they only use the v1's for serious matches, but use Top Flite D2 "Feel" edition, and they say it is very comparable. One of my buddies even switched entirely to the D2 feel, as he said the extra $25 dollars wasn't worth it, and plus you get 3 extra in every box.

your thoughts on it? I haven't gotten the chance to play it, i recieved a free 2 pack of d2 distance in the mail but just assummed they were Rock Flites as usuall and put them in the corner some place. Now i'm digging to find them

there are tons of reviews on the D2 Feel..

ive been using it lately and it plays the same for me (im not too good anyways)... and it goes the same distance aa other balls ive played (all titleists/nikes). they dont check as quickly as some premium balls but usually just fine for me; i never get a ball to back up anyways.. but short irons and wedges all stop pretty fast.3 my wedges still take some skin off, but not nearly as bad as the other premiums where they would shred the whole dimples off. ive been putting pretty decent for me with them...better than normal actually.

they shank just as easily as the other balls too!

Just use the ball that fits your game, if the least expensive balls play as well for you as the top of the line save some $$$ until you get better and tbe better balls help your game.

I found one the other day, same hard plastic coating as any other top flite so I assume it plays the same. Haven't hit it yet, but I'm really not good enough to tell the difference anyway.

The dimples look kind of gimicky.

I have been interested in trying them, havn't found one on the course yet and Top Flite sent me the distance ones for free.

I seriously doubt they are anything like a pro V1, for me a 13 handicapper I need that spin around the greens. The general consesus is that they are great for the price but dont expect them to check up like a pro V.

I have used the D2 feel for a while now. I switched from Noodles. The D2 feels more lively than the Noodles and the have decent spin. Great value ball at a buck each.

I flip flop around with balls just to try something different. I also like the Wilson 50/50. They seem to spin more than the D2. I have only used them for one round so far.

The only 3 balls that get anywere near the amount of spin as a Pro-V1 is a HX TOUR 56, TP/Red & the good old B330-S. The Z-URS get a fair bit of spin too.

Oh and Warbirds get heaps of spin too ey!

I read an article somewhere recently that talks about your average high to mid handicapper getting more spin from some of the new alternative cover balls than the current urethane balls.

The Platinum isn't a bad ball, actually the only Nike ball that I like. Here's an indepth review of them:

http://thesandtrap.com/equipment/bal...m_balls_review . The Z-URS is my favorite ball that I've tried though, it just seems to perform better for me than the Pro-v's and Nike One's of the world. There are 3 other pro-quality brands I still need to try: Bridgestone, Taylor-Made, and Callaway.

Be sure to try the HX Tour 56, it's fantastic. I like it better than Pro-V1 around the greens, that balls spins like hell. Nike One Plat is another great ball, I sometimes whip it out on par 5's.

I'm going to buy a 1/2 dozen seeing there only $18 AUD for 6 balls thats not bad & next time i play a social round i'll give them a go.
I won one a couple of weeks back but i traded it to a guy who liked them so ive still never hit one.
Does anyone know the diference between the "straight distance" & the "distance" D2's?
