I only ask this question as I have been using this site for nearly a year and was wondering if anyone ever considered putting together an outing for folks who use this site?  Like say a day in Las Vegas - playing a course.  And then after the tournament - going out for food/drink?  The only reason I say Las Vegas is that there are tons of hotels/courses and places to hang and it is easy to fly in and out from almost anywhere in the continental US.

I'd be interested to hear what the responses are - and please expand on why you selected what you did...

The problem with this type of outing is a lot of *scratch* golfers and guys who drive the ball *300 yards down the middle* would have a lot of explaining to do.

I would go just to give tips to everyone all day long and proceed to play very slowly.

"My ball is on top of a rock in the hazard, do I get some sort of relief?"

Be all for it, but I don't think I'd realistically be able to make one.

Think I'm one of the very few around the capital area, so the tourney would probably be organised elsewhere.

I think for something like this to work, there would need to be a series of regional outings. I live about an hour from Orlando and some of the best courses around. If there was something done in the Orlando area, I'd defly be interested.

Hahaha. All of the future tour pros we've had here recently come to mind.

This would be part of the fun though!  I'd think the stories generated from playing in such an outing would provide the users here some great source material for at least a years worth of ribbings?!  Would make the boards pretty interesting if you ask me.

I was thinking about this.  I agree that this may be the best.  Is to start something regional... Get people having fun on a regional level and talking about it.  Then after you get some positive buzz on the boards, maybe more folks would be willing to go to a location where we could all get together?  Could be a way to compete in like a mini-Ryder cup event too if you think about it?  Get teams set up regionally.  That would be really fun.

This sounds like fun and depending on the location this is probably do-able for me. I like the idea of a few regional outings to start. Count me in for something on the West Coast. ***DISCLAIMER*** I am not one of those guys that claim to drive the ball 300 yards straight down the middle everytime. LOL

BeachComber is in Orange County, you and I are in the Bay Area, MVMAC is also in San Diego. I'm in for a West Coast outing. Let's meet halfway and golf Pebble

Ha!  I don't think Pebble would be in the cards unless Erik sponsors it? But I like the idea a lot.  Lets see if we can get some more interest.  I'd be all in for making a trip on the west coast and doing an outing with folks from the board.

I will go, but only if I can smoke weed and listen to music on the course.
