I have tried everything with this guy but I can't get him to maintain his spine angle during the swing. He has managed to return to his original tilt at impact but more often than not, he doesn't. Any suggestions? His handicap is 10 but he often plays in the 90's. One round in ten, his timing is good and he shoots in the high 70's. :~(

His setup makes it too difficult to tilt left in his backswing.

I'm not looking to change the guy to stack and tilt, I just want to eliminate his reverse pivot and maintaining his forward tilt.

If you want him to keep his head centered and stop lifting up, he has to change his setup so his shoulders can turn steeper and his body can tilt left on his backswing.

It could be physiological in his back.      I battle a similar problem following a couple back surgeries.   I can rotate just fine when standing straight up and down and can tilt at the hips just fine, but when I rotate the shoulders when in the forward tilted position I feel an issue with certain muscles going from the bottom of my shoulder blade down towards the lumbar, an issue I didn't have pre-surgery.   The result is that these muscles force a change in my spine tilt position as I rotate around, forcing my shoulders to rotate more on a flat plan and not around the spine, and this then forces a posture change.   Almost no amount of conscious focus has been able to correct it, and extensive stretching partially helps, but now being in my 50's it seems that those muscles may just not gain back their pre-injury capability.      Your student's issue could not have anything to do with his learning capacity or your teaching.
