Ping Eye 2's, do they still make them?

A buddy and I were talking today about his copper Ping Eye 2's and I wondered if they still made these or non copper custom from Ping. He said he thought they might but I haven't seen an option on there website short of contacting them to ask. Just wondering if anyone knew. I'd at least like to have the wedges without having to buy them used from some clown who liked to hit rocks with them on eBay.

Lmao. Unfortunately I don't feel the way the creator of that does, but the wedges were pretty nice to hit.

They still make a version of the wedges.

That was from that thread a year or so ago, right?

Contact Ping on this. In the past, I believe they had a website link to order vintage clubs. Can't find it today.

The wedges I have heard are pretty damn good.  Hunter Mahan still plays an eye 2 lob wedge I believe.

When the grooves rule first came into effect, the eye 2s were explicitly allowed (due to the whole Ping vs USGA lawsuits in the past). Hunter Mahan, among others, went out and found them, thinking they'd get an advantage from having it over a new fully-conforming wedge. Whether or not it helped I don't know, but Ping eventually told the USGA that they consent to ending that provision.

I hear the BeCu ones are the bestest EVAR!  Like butter.

Holy crap this is some funny stuff.  Any way we could unlock the old thread and see if we can lure FD back into the forum?  I'd love to hear how many club championships he's racked up now.  BTW I had an old Eye 2 wedge in my garage last year; not even sure how it got there, but I traded it in with a bunch of old garage junk at Dunn's when I was buying some new wedges.  Guess I should have saved the effort and just put it in play.  Would love to add a skippie to my shot bank.

Hahaha that thread is priceless, it really should be a sticky thread just for entertainment.

I dont think they still make them. I would love to have a set of the Berylium Coppers. I think they look great. I wouldn't game them, they would be wall ornaments for my Garage (much akin to Buckeyes Garage, except mine is Boston Bruins paraphernalia, and instear of a challenger, its a 1997 ROE Viper GTS). As far as looks go, the Copper Eye2's are sexxxxy.

I wonder if there's a significant difference in feel between regular Eye 2's and BeCu?  Same molds, same shafts and same grips.
