So the Wife found a great Groupon for 1 hour swing evaluation and lessons at Edwin Watts Golf over in Tampa. They were $23 a piece (normally $85), so she paid for 2 for me. I have until July 2013 to use them, but think I'm going to do at least one of them next week. Now I had two trains of though as far as how I should do the lessons. Either a week or so apart, or a month or so apart. Not sure how I should do it.
I was leaning toward a month or so apart. My reasoning is that would give me a chance to practice what they teach me at the lesson for a while, and then come back after I have played a few rounds and done some range time. Then maybe they could do some further tweaking from there.
Or would it be better to do them a week apart so it's more intensive.
Background on me. I started playing in 2004 and played pretty steady till the end of 2009, when I broke my foot. Got back into the game a few months ago, and am starting to get back into my grove. I am 38 now. I was a 16 handicap before my injury, but that has gone up a little since coming back after not playing for a long time. Just got all new clubs within the past month. Picked up a new to me, used Callaway Driver and Odyssey putter. (they don't make the driver or putter I wanted anymore) I also ordered custom fitted Callaway irons, Cleveland Wedges, and TaylorMade fairway woods.
I know I'm not going to go from shooting mid 80's to mid 70's in a couple of lessons, but anything closer to the 70's would be nice, even low 80's. My best game ever was 81, but that was pure luck. Some of the best pitches and putts I have ever done. Even sank a 45ft putt when I was just trying to stop it close to the hole for good second putt.
So what are your opinions on what would be more benificial to me. I have had lessons in the past when I first started, but that was due to having a friend that was an Instructor, and I did the lessons whenever he offered them to me since they were free, so I went by his schedule.
Also, my daughters instructor has offered to play a round with us as well so he can evaluate us in game, and then give us a private lesson the follwing week. He is supposed to get back to me with pricing and his availablity when she goes for her lesson this Saturday

I would do them three to six months apart.

Spend the entire six months working on the first thing they tell you, your top priority piece. Then go back and do the same for the next thing.

Point I'm making is this: you aren't going to make any lasting changes in a week. Probably not a month.

That's kind of what I was thinking. The way you stated it puts it into better perspective though. I think that's what I'll do, schedule them several months apart.
