I just put Black Widow Tour Silk (Black) grips on my irons (Cleveland TA-5 Gunmetal) and wedges (Cleveland 588 Gunmetal) replacing GP Tour Velvet. Anyone else using these grips?

I went out to the back yard (Close cut Bermuda grass) and hit my GW wedge "around the house" ~ Its a little stress reliving game I play when I can't get up to the range. Anyway the grips feel really good, soft enough, solid, and tacky too. Plus the aesthetic appeal cannot be ignored either ~ It has a black window spider on it!

I got them for $1.39 each from Amazon (best deal I could find). So I already felt like a winner before I even put them on the clubs.

I can't wait to get out and play a round this weekend and see how they perform on the course.

Happy Golfing,

George

They look pretty sweet. I've only seen them in a shop one time, but none were a full cord or else I'd have picked up a few. They had them in black, red/black and white.

I tried BW grips last season and they were great for a while but after 2 months they started getting very hard/slick. The price is great but they just don't seem to last very long maybe they have made changes since I used them.

I've got a bunch here. Kind of thin and need extra wraps under to build them up. Just an FYI, they're $.99 per all over.

I have Black Widow grips on all my clubs. The Widow Maker (half cord) on my woods, and the Torque (full cord) on my irons. I love them both, great traction, nice looks, and so far nice durability.

I've never played the other models by Black Widow, but I've heard stories regarding the Tour Silks being great, but only for a very short time. They seem to get very hard/slick after a couple weeks. I have not had this happen on the Torque grips yet, but I have noticed the non corded part of the Widow Makers become hard and lost a lot of tackiness.

I bought a crap load for $0.99 each from Golfworks a while back, both black and white.  Like LBlack said, they are a lot smaller diameter than others.  I have one 7 iron that I have 5 wraps under the BW and it's not yet the same diameter as my PURE pros with 2 wraps.  Decent grips for the price, they just get hard quick don't seem to last very long.  But considering I only paid $0.99 and have a large box full, I will keep using them as disposable grips on demo clubs.

I've used them before.  Comparable to standard golf pride velvet grips, but as a previous poster mentioned, they are thin!  You'll need to build them up, more than likely.
