O.K. i'm at a loss right now when I hit the course on my own, get paired with a random player (good bad or indifferent) or a golf buddy I am playing great...able to work the ball with all clubs, hit my distances, stay focused play the game I need to play to score well. BUT...as soon as I walk on the course with my dad (who I got into the game so we could have something to do together) my game goes to hell in a handbasket. Pull my head, hit high slices with my driver, hit irons all sorts of distances, my short game is completely gone and my putter well i should just leave it in the car with my driver. I'm not sure if i'm just not comfortable enough to go out with him and really play my game or what but I feel like it is causing bad habits in my game that I have to go back and repair.
I am starting to wonder if this is a situation where I leave my driver home and play iron only golf to work on shots from different distances and look at it as purely practice.
Any thoughts are welcome as I'm personally unsure of what to do
