Mental Block Issue

O.K. i'm at a loss right now when I hit the course on my own, get paired with a random player (good bad or indifferent) or a golf buddy I am playing great...able to work the ball with all clubs, hit my distances, stay focused play the game I need to play to score well. BUT...as soon as I walk on the course with my dad (who I got into the game so we could have something to do together) my game goes to hell in a handbasket. Pull my head, hit high slices with my driver, hit irons all sorts of distances, my short game is completely gone and my putter well i should just leave it in the car with my driver. I'm not sure if i'm just not comfortable enough to go out with him and really play my game or what but I feel like it is causing bad habits in my game that I have to go back and repair.

I am starting to wonder if this is a situation where I leave my driver home and play iron only golf to work on shots from different distances and look at it as purely practice.

Any thoughts are welcome as I'm personally unsure of what to do

How about an appointment with a psychiatrist?  Yes, I'm serious.

I'd love to give you some advice, but I actually play well with my dad. He's not that good, so there's zero pressure.

I wish I could help, but I've had the same problem with two of my older cousins. They got me started playing many years ago. They were not great golfers, but they were fair. I don't think either of them has played in years, but I have never broken 90 when playing with them.

That may not sound too bad, but at one time I was a scratch golfer. They have told me many times that if it wasn't for other people, who have played with myself and them, telling them the scores I could shoot, they would never believe it. every time we would go out, I played like a rank beginner. It was maddening.

It has to be some kind of mental paralysis. We want to impress them, and it locks up our motor functions.
